The UNC Bears, part of NCAA Division I as members of the Big Sky Conference, play football at Nottingham Field -- which is not named for the famous home of Robin Hood, but for philanthropist Vic Nottingham, who helped raise money for the stadium. To find apartments near UNC, look along 17th Avenue on the west side of campus or along 11th Avenue on the east side. To live near Nottingham Field, look along 17th Avenue near Ailes Drive. Choose the south end (between 25th Street and 27th Street) to be near shopping at University Square and West Greeley Mall. Founded in 1869, Greeley is a terrific city with a population around 100,000.
