The Guesthouse at the Miller Beach Dream Retreat is nestled at the end of a quiet residential cul-de-sac, offering direct access to the park beach trail. This sandy path meanders through a slice of the Indiana Dunes National Park, leading to a sugar-sand beach with views of the Chicago Skyline and stunning sunsets. The walk to the beach is approximately 1/6 of a mile, taking about ten to twelve minutes along a mostly sandy, partially paved path that passes Historic Chanute Hill, the site of the first manned glider flight in 1896 by Octave Chanute. The Guesthouse features an open floor plan with a Great Room, a full kitchen, dining for six, a bath with a jetted tub, a private entrance, and a small deck with a Weber gas grill and café string lights. It includes two private Queen bedrooms and a Queen sleeper sofa in the Great Room, accommodating up to eight individuals, not including children under two years of age. Parking is available for two cars in tandem in the driveway, with free overnight overflow parking nearby. The Guesthouse is adjacent to the Dream Retreat Main House, but there are no shared spaces, ensuring privacy. The Guesthouse boasts an open floor plan with a Great Room and a full kitchen, featuring cherry cabinetry, Carrara quartz counters, and an island with a 60/40 double-bowl stainless steel sink and Grohe pull-out sprayer faucet. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge with auto-ice maker, gas range, built-in microwave and convection oven, dishwasher, and all necessary small appliances, cookware, bakeware, flatware, glassware, barware, and supplies. A Keurig coffee station with an assortment of k-cups is also provided. The Great Room features 16 ft vaulted ceilings with skylights, table seating for six, a leather sofa, and a 50-inch smart TV with digital cable, video streaming, and a Blu-ray player. Each bedroom is furnished with high thread-count linens, comforters, pillows, ceiling fans, smart TVs with digital cable and video streaming, and ample closet space, dressers, and nightstands with lamps. The bathroom includes a jetted tub, fluffy towels, bathmats, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, toilet paper, tissues, and a hair dryer. The Guesthouse is dog-friendly, allowing up to two adult, house-trained dogs with fees of $60 for a 2-night stay, $20 per night for a 3-night stay, or $140 per week. Guests may request early check-in at 1:30 pm CST for a fee of $59 during peak season and $39 during non-peak season, and late checkout at 1 pm CST for the same fees. Due to COVID restrictions and enhanced cleaning procedures, early check-in and late checkout may not be available. Located at the edge of the Indiana Dunes National Park, the Guesthouse offers a serene retreat with easy access to nature trails and a sugar-sand beach. The nearby Lake Street Beach features a seasonal small vessel boat ramp and a paid parking lot for those who prefer to drive. The area is steeped in history, with the Historic Chanute Hill nearby, and offers breathtaking views of the Chicago Skyline and sunsets over Lake Michigan. The Guesthouse entrance is accessed by a flight of exterior stairs. Neighborhood quiet hours are strictly enforced from 9 PM to 9 AM. Parties, events, lack of decorum, and disruptive noise will not be tolerated. If neighbors are disturbed, tenants may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund. Outdoor music is not permitted after 9 PM. Small wireless Bluetooth speakers are allowed except during quiet hours. Tampering with noise monitoring devices is strictly prohibited and will result in a $350 fine. No smoking is allowed inside or within 15 feet of any open door or window, with a $1000 fine for violations. Parking is limited to two cars in the driveway, with free overnight overflow parking available nearby. The property has exterior security cameras monitoring outside areas, including the driveway and entrance stairs. Includes a built-in desk with a leather office chair, free high-speed Wi-Fi, and three smart TVs with digital cable and video streaming. A laptop computer is not included.
