Waycross is a small and fairly secluded city in southeastern Georgia, located about sixty miles inland from Brunswick and eighty miles northwest of Jacksonville. The city is well known for its beautifully preserved historic buildings, with the Downtown Waycross Historic District in particular housing a gorgeous collective of vintage homes and buildings still in active use.

Waycross is a major healthcare hub for the area, with hundreds of locals employed at the city’s Satilla Regional Medical Center just a few blocks northeast of Downtown. Just minutes south of the city, the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge offers one of Georgia’s most pristine natural environments, providing endless opportunities for outdoor exploration.
