The HISTORY OF 247 PEARL The original building located at 247 Pearl Street was built circa 1820 by Benjamin Bailey to use as both a home and office for his law practice. It remained in the Bailey family as a residence until 1866. Soon after, the house was renovated into apartments and changed ownership several times. In September of 2011 fire completely destroyed the original building, displacing several dental offices. At the time, the structure had been one of the oldest in the City of Burlington.
