Emerald Woods Apartments

Emerald Woods has been a lovely place to live! This is my first time renting (with my boyfriend) and we’ve has nothing but a great experience. Rachel is the property manager and she is great. we have everything in close vicinity; gas stations, grocery stores, and stores for shopping. Very safe area and pet friendly too!!

Emerald Woods is the only apartment complex where I felt safe. This complex is also very clean, no crime, quiet neighbors, and affordable. Rachel is the new property manager and I cannot say enough great things about her. She cares about her residents, goes above and beyond to answer any questions, and truly has your best interest. I had the BEST neighbors in my building, from Ms. Monica whom my children adored and looked forward to waving hello to every morning before school as well as after, to Dana for helping my move old boxes and becoming a dear friend, my sweet neighbor on the 3rd floor who made my children and dog a Halloween goodie bag and Christmas cookies. The maintenance team was quick to respond to Every request I submitted, knowledgeable, kind, and respectful of my apartment. They were always quick to salt the sidewalks and clean the snow off the stairs. A cleaning crew cleaned the hallways weekly. Dumpsters are picked up multiple times a week. Multiple waste areas for dog waste to be thrown away. An awesome dog park with a bunch of toys, water station, and area to meet up with some other tenants and have a puppy play date. I cannot recommend this complex enough. I’m truly going to miss it here.

My husband and I have lived here for 4 years and we love it! It's a very peaceful, quiet, and friendly neighborhood. Megan in the leasing office is always super kind, responsive, and cares a lot about the community, organizing community events as well!

I found myself at Emerald Woods after an emergency caused me to relocate on short notice. When I arrived at the leasing office, I was greeted by Megan, who is exuberant with warmth and kindness. While meeting with her, she was empathetic and understanding of my circumstances, being certain to address my specific needs based with honesty and transparency. If you have had any unpleasant experiences with management companies, then do know that Emerald Woods operates with integrity. They are attentive to the needs of tenants, ensure the units and property are well maintained and in working order, create connections with tenants, and ensure the residents are made to feel at home in a larger community. Not to mention, the units are quaint with a coziness that is hard to come by in modern and contemporary designed rentals. This place is home.

I have been living at Emerald Woods now for almost a year and i have to say from day 1 it felt like home. When i initially was completely the application I was out of state on a family emergency and had never done this type of thing over the phone and without visiting the apartments, LET ME TELL YOU the manager, Megan was SUPER she went to the actual apt and took pic's of inside and outside, WHO DOES THIS, so super nice and professional and made me feel comfortable to trust her without going to the actual apt's myself. The move in process was easy and I felt like family that was the best experience i ever had in moving into an apartment. when i moved in the apt was clean, so cute and the neighbors were friendly and so very helpful. They actually tried to help me move my stuff in! :) I just love living here and plan to renew its the best apartment and people here that make it so nice and a place to call home.

Megan was very helpful when signing the lease within my short time window! The apartment was everything she promised. Maintenance has been speedy and efficient! Close proximity to downtown Bel air! Couldn't be happier!

I rented an apartment at the Forest Hill Apartments and really enjoyed my time living here. The building is in a great location that is walkable, with supermarkets, pharmacies, Gym, and restaurants. The maintenance staff is extremely responsive and seem to genuinely care about their tenants. Rent was very affordable and reasonable for the location and services provided. I would live here again! The building is clean, safe, and quiet and the apartment is very nice. The staff has been great to work with. It was a pleasure to deal with Megan the Leasing Manager from my very first inquiry. Would highly recommend this apartment complex.

I'm renewing my apartment lease at Emerald Woods...why?...Well let me tell you...The main reason is the property manager, Megan! She always has a smile on her face and a warm greeting to go with it. Day in and day out she is available to answer questions, give suggestions and she's even been seen picking up some trash that was blowing around on the parking lot. When Megan is having a (well deserved) day off, I have been treated with the same respect and kindness from Betsy. As far as the building complex, it certainly isn't the newest, but between management, maintenance and landscaping, it's the best, showing lots of pride and an excellent price/quality ratio. Yes, I have needed to call maintenance for both an emergency and non-emergency basis and the issues were handled promptly and very professionally. The interior and exterior of the buildings are always clean and clear and I feel quite safe in this area of the county. With walking paths, shops, restaurants and grocery stores close by, Emerald Woods has it all!

I have lived in multiple apartment complexes and this is by far the CUTEST and friendliest of all! The best staff ever! Super cozy & welcoming! Me and my daughter are over the moon happy, pleased, and love living here! Home sweet home!

Fantastic maintenance crew is always helpful and prompt. Love the beautiful landscaping and fountain. Community pool is super nice and tucked away which makes it feel like a private club. Location is in walking distance to retail and food. And leasing manager Megan is the best!!

My fiancée and I just signed a lease for a 1 Bed/1 Bath unit and will be moving in the end of August, so we haven't been able to get into our exact unit just yet, but I wanted to write a review to say just how great Betsy was. I tried contacting this property a week or so ago, along with a bunch of other properties, but this was the only property that actually attempted to get in touch with me. I tried calling again on a Saturday and Betsy answered the phone and was delightful to speak with from the start of our conversation. She answered my preliminary questions over the phone, and my fiancée and I decided to go on a whim and take a last minute tour that afternoon. When we arrived we sat down with Betsy to go over what we were looking for, and she was already conscious of our budget and was sincere about keeping it in mind. She took an hour of her time to show us around not only Emerald Woods but some of their other properties as well, and she answered all of our questions and even pointed out details that I never would have considered on my own, which was extremely helpful. At the end of it all she mentioned that availability was VERY slim and the sooner we act the better, but she did not make us feel pressured at all, nor did she try to throw us a sketchy sales pitch. She was very honest, sincere, and kind to us the whole time and had given us the option of applying now or later and made us feel good about our options. After my fiancée and I left, we got snowballs, chatted about the place, and decided we would go for it! I called Betsy back and she said we could come to the office to take care of everything so that's what we did. We are first-time apartment buyers/renters, and we greatly appreciated Betsy's help, knowledge, and sincerity. One thing I greatly appreciated was that she knew we were first-timers and she took the time to slow down and go over the lease agreement with us, which just further shows how much she cares for the people joining the community. We are beyond excited to move into our new little space, and we couldn't have done it without Betsy!

We had a chance to talk to tenants at two of the properties, before contacting the Leasing Office, and their comments were positive. The main reason for choosing this Company was the professional and yet friendly attitude we encountered. We were never pressured, we received answers to all our questions and the information was always clear. Carrie and Betsy kept us up-dated constantly and put up with some of the changes in our situation. Carrie was extremely (and we mean it) patient answering our many questions. A move like this is a serious commitment. Carrie explained the various offers at that time, gave us basic information and insisted that all other questions will be answered when we visit the communities and we have a first hand experience. We visited all four properties managed by the Company, under the guidance of Betsy. It took at least a couple of hours because she showed us part of the complex, gave us a tour of the model apartments, explained what items might be specific to different units and answered all questions making sure we had a clear idea of the situation. She offered to take our application that day, but added that we can always make up our minds later and send/drop applications at a later date. We returned a week later, met with Betsy, applied, were approved and signed the lease. We did not expect the approval process to be so fast so we showed up later in the day. As a result Betsy had to stay over time, which she took with a smile. Both times the grounds and buildings looked very well kept. We are now waiting for September to see "the" apartment, check it and move in. We hope we will not need maintenance too often but from what we heard issues should be resolved quickly.

I’m looking to move next month, and decided on Emerald Woods! I was assisted by Megan, who made everything from the tour to paperwork as easy as it could be! A big thing for me is follow-up, especially when deciding on an apartment that won’t be ready for another few months. However, Megan kept me updated every step of the way! I also had some issues arise post-signing, and Megan was incredibly patient, proposing any and all solutions to make sure I was happy and comfortable. The community is incredibly well-kept, and sits in an amazing location. Megan also did a great job informing me of what was in the area! I can’t wait to move in!

Betsy gave us a fantastic tour and was so helpful and informative. She answered all our questions and made us feel incredibly comfortable throughout the process. Thank you so much Betsy!

I lived at Emerald Woods for a year and absolutely loved my stay! The community is beautiful and peaceful and Megan was so helpful and wonderful!! She is passionate about meeting each tenants individual needs and her bubbly and positive personality is hard to beat! She made me feel so welcome during my stay and even sent me a personal card during quarantine times to wish me well, which truly meant the world to me. I would highly recommend Emerald Woods!!!!

Can’t say enough about Emerald Woods. The leasing manager Ms. McVay is great. Always there when I needed her and always pleasant and professional. Maintenance staff always there when needed and returned phone calls promptly.

We are moving into Harford Village South , but we toured all of the locations they had available at different complexes . We spent about 2 hours with Megan and had an AWESOME experience! She has been very helpful with any questions we had or have . We are first time renters, so there are plenty of questions that just pop up here and there and she is always eager to help ! The community was clean and seemed very friendly and we are very excited ! Counting down the days (:

My name is Katina H. and reside in an Emerald Woods Townhome. I just wanted to say that have been at my residence for a year and have enjoyed my stay. The customer service and maintenance staff have been extremely courteous. They have been timely and extremely professional with their response to every issue I have had no matter how major or minor they been.

I wanted to share what a great job onsite Maintenance did in taking care of a leak in the ceiling of my bathroom. On Saturday, he came out quickly after receiving my emergency call. Within a few days, he fixed the leak, drywalled the area and had it painted. He was very professional and I was thankful for his prompt actions! A great place to live! Sincerely, NM

I haven’t lived here very long, but Carrie and Megan made the renting process a breeze! The layout of these apartments are very open and it’s so quiet.

I have never moved into an apartment before, but Carrie made sure it was a smooth experience. After the first day, I did not even want to look anywhere else. I did look at another place but was reminded that Emerald Woods has exceptionally better staff than most other places. My girlfriend and I are moving in on January 4th and we are so excited! The place is beautiful inside and out. Thank you Carrie and Emerald Woods!

If you could give more than 5 stars, I would. Megan and Carrie have been amazing, they help us with everything. Anything we need gets done right away. It is extremely quiet in this neighborhood, I have only seen 1 neighbor. Glad my girlfriend and I picked here over any other area.

I have lived at this property for about 5 years! This community is amazing and I would recommend this property to my friends and family. The leasing manager, Megan, is very knowledgable, quick, and efficient in addressing any and all questions or concerns I have. Maintenance appropriately response to service requests. I honestly have never lived on a better property or under a more amazing property management team!

Since day one the management at Emerald Woods has gone above and beyond to make sure that my family is comfortable. The maintenance staff keeps the grounds well-maintained and responded almost immediately to the couple of requests that I had. The neighborhood is safe and quiet with very friendly neighbors.

We have lived at Emerald Woods for 11 years. The community is peaceful, quiet and cozy - not a lot of noise but friendly neighbors. The maintenance and management teams are helpful, pleasant and respond quickly when we have concerns. We really enjoy living here and look forward to many more great years.

I just moved in as of October 1 but I do really like it here. The staff is extremely helpful and the few minor issues I had when I moved in, they addressed within a few days. They are very attentive. The property is very clean and quiet. Not much more that you can ask for. I would highly recommend it. -TJB

I have enjoyed living at Emerald Woods for almost five Months. The Leasing Agent Megan has been terrific always friendly and concerned,I have't had any major Maintance problems just a few minor and they were promptly addressed. The only negative concerned I have is that the Appliances could used an update.However,that does not take away from the fact that I enjoy living at Emerald Woods.I do miss the Ambiance that the lights provided was disappointed to see them go.

As a resident since 2011, I wish to relate my observations of Emerald Woods Apartments. As a retired Fire Service Professional, I observed that the buildings are protected by a full automatic sprinkler system. Electric smoke detectors in each living unit. A full fire alarm system with alarms on each level of the interior exit way. Emergency/exit lighting in each stairway. All of the above are inspected on a yearly basis. In addition, the common areas are kept clean and free of trash. The maintenance crew are efficient and respond quickly to requests for service and emergency situations. I enjoy living here and intend to continue to do so. M.B.

I moved to emerald woods with my family not too long ago. So far the experience has been great. Megan from management was super helpful especially with the whole moving process. The community is nice and quite, and the people are very friendly. This is a great place to live if you’re looking for something homey .

I've been a resident of the Emerald Woods Apartments for the past 3 years. The apartment is in an excellent location, less than a mile from several grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping. Located just off of Route 24, it's an easy drive (or Uber) to downtown Bel Air. The apartments aren't flashy, but are well put together. Newer appliances are steadily being installed. During my time at EW, I had an issue with the dryer (not outdated) and they replaced it with a top of the line model. Plenty of closets and storage areas, including balcony/patios. Plenty of outlets and permanent lighting. The neighborhood is fairly quiet with a various background of tenants. This is a pet friendly apartment, with doggy disposal stations. Rarely did I hear other tenants, or their pets, through the walls/floors. Dumpster and single stream recycling dumpster are located on the east end of the parking lot, which is helpful to those who like to recycle. The exterior areas are regularly vacuumed and cleaned. The sidewalks are usually shoveled/salted, with buckets provided for emergent need. The maintenance team is very responsive. Most minor issues are resolved incredibly quickly, and they are good at communicating delays for any larger issues. While the leasing office is not regularly manned, it's not difficult to get a hold of the management personnel. The management team is friendly and helpful. Overall I enjoyed my time living on the 2nd floor at Emerald Woods Apartments. I only resided in Maryland for 3 years, but spent my entire time living at EW. I would recommend them to anyone moving into the area. A.T.

I have lived here for 7 months now and enjoy the peaceful, friendly neighborhood. The grounds are nicely landscaped and kept well maintained. The maintenance of the buildings are good and though I have had little trouble in my apartment the service was very prompt and professional.Carrie and Arlene in the office are very helpful on any questions or concerns you may have. I enjoy sitting on my patio with my cat, Sammy, enjoying the sunshine or a good book while Sammy is keeping the squirrels under control. I'm at home here. Kathi

My husband and I have lived at Emerald Woods for 4 years. We feel very blessed to live here. We live in a building with wonderful neighbors! We all care and look out for each other. If someone in our building is not well or is just out of the hospital, everyone checks in to see how they are doing. We are a diverse community within our building. We have residents from 94 years to 4 years. We have families from Puerto Rico and Iraq. It makes no difference, we are one family! We had a building holiday party this year, it was wonderful! Everyone brought goodies, but we had singing, dancing, and games and crafts for the children. When you live at Emerald Woods, you come home to family. J&A

Moved in just over a year ago. Neighbors are all really nice and respectful. Community is close to many restaurants, grocery stores, doctor's offices, banks, etc.. The staff and maintenance have been a pleasure to deal with when necessary. The grounds are kept nice and the fountain adds a nice tranquil touch to the neighborhood.

Emerald woods has a very pleasant atmosphere with awesome staff. They were extremely helpful with every question and concern that I had. The entire complex is well manicured and the fountain is beautiful. Would be great for a family or single person. Close to Bel Air yet quiet and relaxed.

Emerald Woods has been nothing short of AMAZING! Carrie at the rental office is the sweetest person, and is extremely helpful. Maintenance is always quick to respond, even though I haven't needed them much. The grounds are beautiful, and the apartment itself is absolutely perfect! I have no complaints! I love it here!

Almost six months since we moved in (December 2017) but feeling like living here much long before... Very nice small neighborhood... (clean, quiet and safe). Easy access to supermarkets, drug stores, restaurants, post office, banks, fitness centers, gas stations, shopping centers, department stores, and much more... within a mile! Parking is not an issue. The maintenance personnel is very responsive and respectful. So far... an excellent experience... highly recommended!

I've been a resident since 1999 here at Emerald Woods. The staff is terrific, and if I ever have any problems maintenance is there in a reasonable amount of time. As far as the apartment complexes in the area go; this one is the best- and I have lived in Harford County for most of my life. Any problem neighbors are addressed quickly. The grounds are well maintained and are beautiful. In Winter months the team does their very best to make sure people can get out and go about their day. When I walk around the community with my pet I have no fear of anything or anyone bothering me in a negative way. I feel so comfortable here. People always pitch in to help their neighbor, everyone is always willing to help whether they know you or not.

I have been living at Emerald Woods for 3 years now. It’s a wonderful community. Very conveniently located. It has a laid back feel yet notfar from shopping and restaurants The rental agents are extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The maintenance staff is great to deal with. Whenever I needed maintenance, which has not been too often, they did the necessary work promptly. My neighbors are very nice, low-keyed, and great to live by. I highly recommend Emerald Woods wth more than 5 stars!

I signed a two year lease and submitted a security deposit in April.In June, I was informed by phone that the apartment I signed a lease for was not available because the current tenants gave notice they wee extending their lease. I have sent written requests and called C. at leasing office without response or my refund. I have located and still planning to move on July 14, but face financial hardship without the return of my deposit in the amount of $1054. I am disappointed that an apt community so beautiful would such poor communication.

Ive lived at emerald woods for 18 months and just recently upgraded to a townhouse owned by the same company. So transferring everything was very easy! Carrie is very easy to work with and truly cares about her tenants. Forest hill is a great area and i definitely wanted to live in a peaceful, calm apartment and thats exactly what i got with emerald woods. They just added more parking and added a nice water fountain in the top lot which looks very nice. I would recommend emerald woods to anyone looking for the best deal and best location in Harford County! And who knows, you might upgrade to something bigger through them after a year or 2!

Carrie and Arlene are wonderful to work with. They made the process as easy and painless as possible and are very welcoming. The complex is quiet and we really enjoy living here.

Upon moving in, I documented all of the discrepancies (i.e. Mold, stains on carpet, etc.) they are charging us $1800 for a new carpet now. RENTERS BEWARE!!! Upon moving in, I documented all of the discrepancies (i.e. Mold, stains on carpet, etc.) they are charging us $1800 to replace a carpet that was EXTREMELY used and stained prior to our move in. I can't stand when people like this take advantage of people in order to collect money for their own financial purposes. It's not right and if this is not resolved in the way that it should be, I will have my attorney take care of it for us. This place was infested with cockroaches, had mold growing in multiple places, had broken appliances, stains all over used carpet, and had not been propery painted. They stated that they replaced the carpet one month before we moved in. Maybe they installed a USED carpet? Now they are claiming that they "cannot find the pre-rent checklist but that's okay, because I have my own.

I moved to town (from Louisiana) in March of 2016 to work in PA and needed an apartment in a hurry. Management was extremely professional and courteous and found me a space that filled all my needs (ie: safe, washer/dryer, dishwasher, spacious, fast internet, plenty of parking, quiet, and clean) in a very short amount of time. Moving forward three months, here is my review of the property: The units are a bit old (the only con to date/thus no 5th star), but they are well maintained and the management has been extremely responsive to every need/concern that I have had to date. People are always walking their pets or jogging around the area, so it seems to be a very safe place. All of the utilities work well with no issues. The space is exactly the size I needed. The internet is Verizon Fios, and it is extremely fast. I have never had an issue parking my Ford F-150. The community is quiet and all of my neighbors that I have met are very friendly. I would not and never will recommend this apartment complex. Yes, they do offer short term leases but charge you $200.00 each month over and above an already high rent.. The apartments are old, with spotty carpets and peeling cabinets in the kitchen with no microwaves and very old appliances. There is carpeting in the changing area in the master and poor quality lighting. The management people are quite nice. I had a short term lease and moved out 2 months before the end of the 6 month lease. I was charged for carpet cleaning. They had me moving out on the 6th of the month but I actually vacated on the 2nd. They gave me a "break" and refunded $90 of the $137 they charged me in cleaning the carpet. But did not change the move out date as they put it in prior to my vacating the property!!!! This place was awful, just had to go there as they had an apartment available which matched my needs. I see now that was because there were multiple vacancies.

I would like to recommend Emerald Woods Apartments as a wonderful place to live. We've been living here now for about six years and I can't recommend it enough. It's a very clean, peaceful environment which is close to all restaurants, stores, doctors' offices, etc. Also, the other tenants also have been very nice neighborhood type people. I would really like to give a shout out to Arlene, who is the apartment representative for Emerald Woods. She is always there to help with whatever issues you may have and is a wonderful contact should you want to seek out an apartment.

This is a nice little community we fell in love with just upon seeing the setting alone! It's not one of those building upon building type communities. Just a few buildings nestled in among plenty of trees and surrounded by nice condos, townhouses, and single family homes. This past fall was our first here and all the trees were gorgeous! You can't beat this location if you're looking for an apartment in Harford County. Matt, Terry and Steve,the maintenance team I've met so far, as well as Arlene and Cathy in the leasing office have all been a pleasure. We have found this apartment and community the perfect place to spend a few years doing a "financial reboot" as I like to call it. :D I feel more at home, safe, and cozy than where we lived as homeowners actually!

I have lived at Emerald Woods Apartments for 4 years and unfortunately I must move to help my parents that are in poor health. Sarah and Arlene have been very helpful as I am disabled, they even had an extra handicapped parking space added just for me. Anytime there is a maintenance issue it was taken care of within one day, sometimes the same day. I have never had any noise problems or any problems what so ever. I wish I didn't have to move but family comes first, I would recommend any of their apartments 100% and would like to thank all of the employees at Emerald Woods. jim
