Located directly on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina’s coasts, Calabash is known as the “Seafood Capital of the World”. This small fishing town originated "Calabash-Style" seafood, a distinctive style of fried seafood where clams, fish, shrimp, and oysters are dipped in a light, flavorful batter and fried quickly. The Calabash River borders the southern part of town, where shrimp boats dock daily during the season selling fresh caught treasures. The community is proud of their culinary connection and they frequent the seafood restaurants found along Beach Drive and Rive Road. Be sure to try one of the original riverside eateries like Captain Nance's Seafood for crisp, authentic Calabash seafood and views of fishing boats. Although seafood and fishing certainly brings this community together, Calabash offers so much more for those looking to rent an apartment or house.

Very nice community. Beautiful and friendly. You'll love it here!
To start with, this is a Hawthorne community. They are far above any other community that I have lived in. I have owned a home for the best part of my life, my husband and I have reached the part of our life where maintenance was not something we didnt want to do, or able to do anymore. I found these rentals on the internet. We went to visit and where so surprised at all the pluses that were offered in this community without having an HOA. The tour was great, and I did not feel pressured in any way. The staff is beyond wonderful and will help you in any way. Take the time to look at all the amenities. We just recently had a Thanksgiving dinner for all the residents. Come see what you're missing. Time to love and live without all the maintenance. Hope to meet you soon!
We moved in in June. Application and lease process was easy. Maintenance is great! Nice pool and patio area with grills for residents to use. Perfect for a small get together. Activities every month with more being added. Staff is friendly and easy to work with. Quiet and clean neighborhood.
The property is absolutely amazing, we have felt so comfortable here. The environment is extremely relaxing whether you're hanging at the pool or in your private backyard listening to the fountain bubble. The homes are spacious with all of the necessity's. The management takes care of everything from changing a light bulb or filters to mowing your fenced in backyard. Sue and staff at the office are amazing, they plan multiple events monthly at the clubhouse and are available to help you with anything they can. If you're planning a move whether temporary or permanent I would highly recommend, I'd give it 10 stars if it were an option.
I love it here. The staff are great to work with. You won't regret living here.
I am delighted that I moved to Egert Landing. The neighborhood is wonderful. The landscaping is beautiful. You are close to every store that you need to be. You cannot beat the location. The homes are beautiful and have every thing you need. The pool is inviting and also a gym to stay in shape. I highly recommend moving to Egert Landing.
