With a population of about 101,000, Las Cruces is the largest city in southern New Mexico -- but it doesn't feel that way. With its fantastic mountain views and spacious landscape, the city feels downright cozy. Las Cruces is a college town -- it is the location of New Mexico State University, the only land-grant university in the state. It is also the location of the White Sands Missile Range. Mountains surround Las Cruces, providing amazing views as well as opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and camping.
Due to its impressive landscape, Las Cruces is often used for filming. Some movies filmed here include Hang 'Em High, Twins, and Traffic. After moving to a Las Cruces apartment, be sure to attend some of the city's annual events, which include the Harvest Wine Festival, the Whole Enchilada Fiesta, the Southern New Mexico State Fair, CrucesCon, and Cowboy Days. Landmarks in Las Cruces include its water towers -- many are painted with murals.

Property Ratings at Cuestas
I moved out due to the high rent increase plus the fact we didn't have Mail boxes on property, and continuous a/c issues. The property is nice communication through the move out process was lacking. I'm assuming everything was good with the unit since I have not heard anything. Paperwork in the office was all sorts of messed up to the point they didn't even have a deposit on me since they would never fix my rhino stuff, they kept trying to charge me for renters insurance even tho I provided it 3 times to the office via email.
These are older buildings with cheaper components and everything is run down (at least my unit). That's fine, the location is good, it's scenic here, and it's pleasing from the outside. But the customer service isn't great, the unit was dirty when I moved in, my washer and dryer are missing, windows don't open, blinds are hard to use... If the rent were 150 or 200 less it would be appropriate. If you can find something available in this price range I recommend you go there -- you'll probably be disappointed here.
After 2 1/2 years of living there (no complaints, always paid on time) I was billed extensively for normal wear and tear on the way out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
