Property Ratings at Commerce Tower
When I moved in, the apartment wasn’t cleaned or painted and this was acknowledged by the Manager (the toilet wasn’t flushed, mold in bathroom, holes in walls, etc). When I left, Commerce Tower charged $1,365 for cleaning and painting, even though the defects existed prior to my occupancy. The elevator stopped working more than once. The I moved out before the lease term ended; nothing required notice whether I intended to pursue another lease (the lease stated if “does not automatically renew”). Nonetheless, Commerce Tower demanded rental of $2,243.27 for periods after the lease ended. Commerce Tower then turned the matter over to a collection agency and filed reports with the credit bureaus.

Got a new management company and they are just as bad as the previous. Takes over a week for maintenance to get anything done, no one in the leasing office answers the phones and of course the pool still isn't open (it's mid June). Just excuses after excuses with this place. If you want to live downtown, live somewhere else. They sell you on the amenitie's but something's always broke or not open.

I’m going on my third year of living at commerce tower. My issue isn’t so much with the apartment but with the amount of noise I experience. I am writing this review at 330am due to my neighbors waking me up out of my sleep with their surround system. To me, because there are so many apartments on each floor, the floors are hardwood, and the walls are rather thin, I can hear everything. On average I probably get 5 hours of sleep due to the amount of noise waking me up out my sleep, my walls vibrating due to surround sound, or my neighbors holding fitness classes in the hallway. I would’ve moved after my first year, but I decided I would still it out after my program is over. Needless to say, I’m excited to move at the end of my lease and get some lease.

Our experience at Commerce has been so far from excellent. We have not felt like adults through all the restrictions and constant reminders to be blindness sheep following all orders pushed our way. We are paying for amenities we can not freely use. There are changes that have been made that are not making our lives better, but rather more of an inconvenience. Our new management is always using the pandemic as a reason that they are not able to be great managers, but in all reality, a situation like this is when you are proven good or bad at management. After we have voiced our concerns to the office staff or management, we have found they are not attentive to for future inquiries or needs. Whether for an amenities request or for just basic questions. The apartment and amenities look sharp and great, but the most important thing to a quality life is those in control over you. It's hard to know who they really are until you actually live under their management so I can only share our experience in an effort to help future residents beware.

This was a hard decision that the Greystar's corporate offices had to make regarding our updated rules in regards to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Commerce Tower is a high-class, luxury apartment building in the true heart of Kansas City. For years I've dreamed of living in a high-rise city loft apartment, and I finally found my perfect home at a truly affordable price. I would encourage anyone looking to live downtown to look anywhere but Commerce Tower. I moved in while still under construction and several of the amenities that sold me in the building were never completed. The price compared to other communities in the area is not competitive based on amenities, service, finishes, and overall experience.

Love staying here so far! It would be nice to make use of all of the amenities, but I really like my apartment and the appearance of the building and its facilities so far. Josh has also been super helpful and responsive with all questions I've had (which were a lot!)

I asked Hailey to cancel my maintenance request, which she said she would be right away. She failed to do so and an hour and a half later, maintenance entered my apartment and stressed my dog and left doors/lights different than I had left them in the apartment. Hailey was then extremely rude and would not accept fault for her mistake. She's been a mess to deal with and I've heard the same from multiple other residents as well.

My wife and I toured most of the apartment communities downtown and Commerce Tower always stood out. The amenities are among the best downtown, the location is fantastic(the streetcar is right out the front door), the views are unparalleled and the units are a great value for the size and finish levels.

Pros: Updated appliances, great view, wood floors throughout kitchen and living room, nice community gym, personal sauna, conveniently located downtown, streetcar access, friendly leasing and management staff. Cons: elevators constantly breaking down, no community perks, have to go downstairs to get your guests because associates arent at their desk, quality of work done by maintenance is below average, no computers in the business center

Commerce Tower is a beautiful building with newly renovated apartments that have a gorgeous view of the rest of downtown. It's conveniently located right in front of the street car on Main Street which allows easy access to the River Market, Power & Lights and more. The staff have been very helpful with any questions or needs that I've had during my move in.

Commerce tower has numerous floor plan options, the staff is warm and helpful and community seems to have good energy. The view is amazing. Ive been searching for a new home for nearly a year and no other places measured up to commerce tower for me.

We love living at Commerce Tower! The living areas are spacious, the views are amazing, and the amenities are great. Our apartment is quiet and comfortable, yet the city is right outside our door. So many conveniences are within walking distance as well as entertainment, dining, and fun activities.
