Syracuse combines city living with historic appeal. The city features established neighborhoods like Sedgwick Farms and Strathmore, each with its own architectural character. Current rental trends show moderate increases, with average rents ranging from $1,192 for studios to $2,309 for four-bedroom units, reflecting annual increases between 1.4% and 4.6%. Syracuse University anchors the University Hill neighborhood, contributing to the area's educational and cultural landscape.
The city celebrates its heritage through well-preserved spaces like Clinton Square, which transforms throughout the year to host seasonal festivals and community gatherings. Onondaga Lake Park offers miles of paved trails for walking, biking, and skating. The historic Burnet Park encompasses the Rosamond Gifford Zoo and the nation's first public golf course. Downtown's Armory Square district features local shops and restaurants in restored 19th-century buildings.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Clay Court Apartments
Not only is the management outdated and only accepted faxes or mail, the manager is rude and unwilling to work with interested tenants. She never answers the phone during their office hours and when she did answer the phone she was clearly annoyed and used an aggressive tone. Disappointed and no longer interested.
I want to preface my review by saying if you are looking for an apartment with the most up to date appliances and design then these are not the apartments for you. However, if you are looking for a good value and a solid apartment then you should seriously consider Clay Court. I lived in a bottom floor 2 bedroom apartment for a little under 3 years and had a great experience. I actually rented the 2 bedroom by myself (no roommate) and found it very affordable compared to similar apartments. My neighbors were very quiet, my apartment was very spacious and maintenance was highly responsive whenever I had an issue. Heat and hot water are included (which is really nice considering the winters we get in Syracuse) so the only monthly utility bill is electric (as an effecient person my bill was around $30/month). Also, the apartments are very conveniently located near 81 and 481 and only a few miles away from Wegmans, Walmart, Target and a bunch of restaurants.
My wife and I moved into Clay Court Apartments in March of 2017 and we had a wonderful experience. Very affordable, quiet and set back far enough from the busy roads that you don't even notice traffic. Close to Route 11 for shopping, minutes from the highway for an easy commute, and next door to a great elementary school. The apartment management is very friendly and helpful and you will never wait long for any kind of issue to be addressed. Could not have been happier with my experience and I feel this is very rare for an apartment complex. Can't recommend this place highly enough if you are a young professional looking for someplace that is 10 minutes or less from EVERYTHING or a family starting out who is looking for a great school for kids, look no further.
Lived at clay court for 10 years. even knew friends who got evicted for poor reasons that had 30 days to get out even had children. The property manager does not care. She's rude and the most unkind individual to rent from. I had break ins happen this past fall got told they would only talk to the lease holder which was my mother and se promised new locks and a sliding glass door that never came so when we took it in our own hands to protect our selves with security cameras and a motion sensor light in order to feel safe again instead of getting a new lese to sign we got a termination of lease instead!!!!!!!! she's useless and doesn't even care about her tenants feeling safe. I also had problems with my fridge and she didn't bother to order us a new one, instead we lost hundred of dollars worth of food instead.
Very bad experience. The management is trouble. Stay far from them
