Three small, upper-middle-class neighborhoods, Middletown, Woodland Hills and Douglass Hills, and Anchorage, an upper-class community, make up the Outer East End of Louisville. Each community features a mixture of newer, more elaborate homes that mingle nicely with some of the historic architecture in the area. However, the homes in Anchorage remain the most elaborate in the area. Wide-open, undeveloped areas provide residents with beautiful scenic views, and nearby access to U.S. Route 60 and interstates 64 and 265 make the 18-mile commute into downtown Louisville simple.

Charlestown Apartments has mice. They do nothing to get rid of them but put down traps. All the townhomes have mice especially downstairs. Do not move here !!!!!!

This apartment complex is amazing! Smack dab in the middle of everything from the Middletown area to a quick drive to Bardstown road, you really couldn't ask for a better location. The staff are amazing and really care about making sure that you feel secure and welcome. I would really recommend this property to anyone, I've been here for a couple of years now and through the pandemic they really did go above and beyond making me feel even more at home!!! -----Diana and Natalie are the best!!

I’ve lived here for 5 years and am pleased with the apartment, the grounds and the staff. Natalee and DeeAnn are friendly and extremely helpful anytime I’ve needed them. The surrounding neighborhood is great for walking with a park nearby. Only good things to say!

I lived at Charlestown for over 4 years and it’s an excellent place to live. Management and maintenance are always friendly and accommodating to any needs I had in the townhome. The enclosed patio was wonderful for my dog and the location in the heart of Middletown/Douglass Hills can’t be beat! Highly recommended!

We have been living here for a year and it's great place to live. Staff is friendly, and going through some more upgrades. Noise restrictions are in place. Love living here no major issues here.

After renting a one bedroom for the past year, I have nothing but great things to say about the team and complex at Charlestown of Douglass Hills! The property is very affordable for the area and the office staff are always welcoming and accommodating. I only had to reach out maintenance one time and they responded within the hour! Plus, the complex is located in the heart of Douglass Hills park which was great for walking my dog and running! Definitely recommend!
have lived here for several years and just renewed my lease again. Natalie and DeeAnn in the office are always friendly and accommodating in addressing any issues or concerns I have. It is also a great value for Middletown.

Once i had move in the apartment for good and everything was fine but after two months of living here i have been catching mice over and over and the apartment does nothing about it ! They tell you to put mice traps down and that’s about all … if you live here just don’t live on the first floor ! Decent price but that’s about all .

Home is where you make it and this was a wonderful choice for my family. Safe, accommodating, reliable, and personal made our five years happy ones at Charlestown. Having a pool in the summer and a short walk to the park we’re added bonuses in addition to other great perks, especially proximity to schools, churches, and freeway access. Thank you also to Natalie and DeAnne and the maintenance crew for taking such good care of us! They were always available, addressed concerns, and above all friendly and kind.
After 2 years of living here I'm truly sad to leave. Although I got a home closer to work and son's school, I enjoyed living here. The maintenance staff was amazing and Natalie and DeAnn were just fantastic to me the whole time!! I will definitely refer others who are looking for a place to rent. Thanks!!
The size is good for the price but that’s about it. Not updated at all and fixtures, cabinets and appliances all very dated. I’ve been catching mice since I’ve moved in. There is a leak from the upstairs bathroom that comes through the ceiling in the living room that has never been fixed. The ceiling is brown and peeling off from the water damage. Definitely not worth the money.
I moved into Douglas Hills 3 years ago. Not only was the staff super flexible. But when ever hiccups happened and plans changed they adapted and helped me get into an apartment fast. Since then, I have had all the help I’ve ever needed. I get a newsletter each month along with a rent reminder. I can submit maintenance requests online. & the managers are helpful and fantastic. It’s the first place I’ve ever lived that felt like a home and the community is full of nice friendly people.
Living in Charlestown Apartments since the fall of 2014 until the fall of 2017, has been one of the best decisions I have made for my family. This is a great place to raise a family considering the quick 3 min drive to Middletown Elementary, a walking distance to enjoy beautiful sunsets at Crosby Park and the best staff I've work with in the apartment leasing business. I honestly have thank God several times for this place as it has met all our needs in regards to location, size, laundry, good neighbors and a committed staff that has consistently met our needs in real sensitive ways. It is out of a grateful heart that I have taken the time to write this review. As a former Quality Assurance Coordinator who cherishes truth, transparency and integrity, I commend you to this beautiful and peaceful great place to live. Sincerely, Samuel
You get what you pay for I guess. Best price in Middletown but so many issues! My husband and I have lived here for 8 months. We were in a 1 bedroom at first and we caught 6 mice! They didn't do anything but put in a mouse trap then moved someone else in there after we moved to a bigger apartment. They will move you in and take months to fix what they say they will. Our fridge was messed up and smelled horrible for some reason- I'm guessing mold before we moved in. Our food was ruined and the smell making us literally sick. I called 8 times over a month and they either promised to call back or gave false promises. Things NEVER get done! The pool is almost always closed in the summer because high school kids don't show up for their shift. Don't rent here unless you love not being cared about!!! - Anonymous Resident
