Prospectors nicknamed Oro Valley the "Valley of Gold," and while they didn't find the precious metal, they did discover a spectacular landscape. Surrounded by mountains, Oro Valley is rich with outdoor adventure, ranging from rock-climbing, caving, and hiking to horseback riding and bicycling. The desert landscape is tinged with gold, from its rugged mountains to its sand dunes. Be sure to visit Catalina State Park, a 5,493-acre park featuring several hiking trails, including the Romero Ruin Trail, which leads through an important archaeological site -- the remains of a Hohokam village.
But it isn't just a stunning landscape that will entice you to rent an apartment in Oro Valley. This fast-growing city is quickly emerging as a hub for the biotech industry and is home to several pharmaceutical companies and medical campuses. Businesses located in or near Oro Valley include Honeywell, Roche Pharmaceuticals, and Sanofi-Aventis.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Catalina Crossing Apartments
You will never be able to contact the apartment manager once you're leased here. I have literally walked into the office here on the phone calling her and she's been in the office on her personal phone allowing the phone to ring and go to voicemail. In the beginning of course it'll be promptly answered but once you're an established tenant here they'll never fix your problems with ease. My apartment has flooded TWICE due to no fault of my own either time and the first flooding my damage was repaired after approximately three months of badgering the office and requesting work to be done. She would promise to schedule workers and then would not and have to be prompted to again when I would get in contact to find out when I could expect to have my apartment fixed. The second flooding I am still dealing with trying to get it fixed and repaired and still I cannot get in touch with the apartment manager and she consistently will ignore my calls. DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU WANT ISSUES RESOLVED QUICKLY.
If I could give it a Lower Rating than 1 star I would. Here are my reasons not to rent at Catalina Crossing. I rented the 2 bed 2 bath sub-ground level. If it rained the porch flooded. when the landscaping company came by with the leaf blowers they would blow all the debris into my sub-ground porch. On top of that the bugs would get stuck on my porch, so I was left with Bettles crunching under my feet every time I came or went. There are only 2 employees for the complex, the maintenance guy, and the office Girl. the office hours are more like 930-11am then 1-3pm. The office is closed on the weekends, and the girl is always on lunch, so If you get packages delivered she will never tell you and never be able to get them. Dog poop is often found around the complex in the rocks or on sidewalks or even on the road because nobody picks up, I've even found some on my stairs! I received the wrong Mailbox keys and couldn't get my mail for over 2 months! My parking spot was taken up by someone else, so I double checked, and the office girl said it was mine. I told her someone was in it she said she would take care of it. So I waited a week, then I started parking in what I thought was my spot. I received a nasty note from the other person who parked there, so I took the note to the office, and the girl said that the spot was double assigned and she would give me another one. The other spot was on the other side of the complex. After parking on the other side of the complex for 2 months, I get a note from the office in my mailbox from the girl whom I had told I couldn't open my mailbox, dated 2 months prior, that I can now park in the original spot.... So I parked there and got another note on my car, but I kept parking there anyway. I signed a 6 month lease, and paid all 6 months at once. I told the girl that I would be out after 6 months, and would not stay. she said ok. 5 months rolled around, and I had received no lease renewal notice and had not been contacted by the office at all. So I went to the office and told the girl I would be moving out in 30 days which is normal for most places. She stated that I needed to do a 60 day notice. I told her I never received a lease copy or a renewal notice, and I am moving out of state. She said she would have to talk to her manager and get back to me. I didn't hear anything for a week so I went to the office again, the girl stated she had not yet talked to her manager.
Absolutely terrible. The complex and the company that owns it Scotia are terrible. Where to start: Got the wrong keys to my mailbox. Then it took too much follow up on my end to get the right key. Management has no sense of urgency. Anytime I called to place a work order in, I would have to call two to three more times and sometimes with no avail. Front office always has the be back In 15 mins sign up. She would not come back for 30-45 mins on a good day. There was only one lady who forgot everything. Which is why you would have to call more than once to get something done. There is a huge bug problem there. They are everywhere. Landscapers allowed they trimmings and dirt to go anywhere. So it landed on my porch with no one but me to clean up after them. Parking is terrible. A tenant left me a threatening note about where I parked.... I was parked in my assigned spot given to me by the office. He tenant continued to leave horrible notes on my car even after it was addressed that the spot was mine. Short staffed as I mentioned there is only one office lady. There is only one maintainance man. Sooo as you can imagine things don’t get done in a timely manner of at all. The BBQ grills never worked and the laundry room is card operated which would be great but the machines can never read the card. Therefore it make doing your laundry near impossible and a frustrating adventure at best. Do not I repeat do not live here unless it is your last option.
This apt complex is alright wish it was better taking care of. But at this point in time, it's all i can afford.
