Castle Pointe

The area has a really bad pest issue. Won’t get rid of the skunk actively living here. Property manager brook says it’s “ a health concern “ for residents, yet refuses to get an exterminator.. since pest control can’t remove skunk. Maintenance also pics and chooses when they show up. My dishwasher flooded, and doesn’t run right. They told me not to use pods with Dawn.. when they plow, they pushed all the snow behind your car unfortunately. So u might get stuck:( . There are many other things I’d love to say about this apartment, if you have low expectations, this is place for you.

I recently moved into my new apartment and couldn't be happier with my decision! My leasing agent, Anthony, made the process incredibly smooth and hassle-free. Since moving in, I've only had good surprises. The apartment was in tip-top condition, exactly as advertised on the website. The amenities are great, the environment is beautiful, and there is plenty of parking available—all at a very reasonable price! I highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a peaceful, pet-friendly place with excellent service!

DO NOT LIVE HERE. I would give zero stars if I could. All the reviews are fake. They towed my car while I was on vacation. Apparently no one can go on vacation ever. This place is a literal piece of trash. The walls are too thin. I can hear my neighbors doing whatever at all times. I told the leasing office that the neighbors were being too loud, and many other residents have complained about these neighbors too. The leasing office basically told me to shut up. Save your sanity and live somewhere else.

We moved in last summer. Anthony was our leasing agent. He did a great job communicating with us on everything. Dog park is great. The best thing about this complex is the gym. Anthony sold us on this place solely on the gym alone. I canceled my gym member ship and everything. Will stay for years.

I lived here for a full year and overall, I enjoyed it. Great amenities, location, and neighbors. The apartments themselves were just okay, but they’re pretty cheap so you can’t expect anything too outstanding. Also, the maintenance staff was absolutely incredible - timely, polite, and did good work. However, the move-in process was a NIGHTMARE. After multiple instances of the staff just neglecting to tell me necessary information I needed to fill out forms, I finally got approved to live here. The day I was supposed to move in, I was told that my apartment was not ready and that I could either pick a new unit or wait. I had them pick a new unit, but toured it and it was filthy, musty, and definitely also not ready. We spent about an hour trying to find another one and eventually found a proper unit. The whole process left me super tired and frustrated. Once I got settled though, everything was fine. I’d still probably recommend this place to a friend, but would definitely warn them about the move-in process first.

Great location - I enjoy walking my dog on their property and the surrounding neighborhoods. So many amenities too! The leasing agents are friendly and helpful as well, especially Anthony! Best apartments I’ve lived in.

When I moved to East Lansing from Ann Arbor, I could not believe how incredible this apartment complex seemed. I would be gaining double the square footage of my last apartment, for $200 less per month. I was blown away by how affordable the apartment was considering how extensive the amenities are. I have a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 full bathroom apartment with an in-unit washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a balcony, and a personal water heater. In addition, Castle Point has an extremely well-kept indoor/outdoor pool. There is a park my son can play at, as well as, a volleyball court, a tennis court, and my personal favorite the basketball court. There is even pleasant scenery for walking around or morning jogs. The East Lansing school system nearby is great! Bus stops for schools and the city are easily accessible and safe for my 6-year-old. The maintenance is phenomenal, pleasant, respectful, and prompt. There has not been a single request that I have made that has not been resolved far beyond my expectations. I am extremely grateful to have found this place. It is by far the best apartment complex I've ever lived in... and I've stayed in quite a few. Best, Leslie

Always room for improvement but the staff are great and the apartments are nice. Laundry room is small but you're 5 minutes away from a laundry mat. The area is safe and nice and plenty of walking paths. O and cute ducks every year

My rent is very low compared to other apartments I've looked at previously. My apartment was fully remodeled when I moved in and I couldn't be happier with the overall look. The staff and maintenance have been very helpful and I had an easy time signing my lease. The clubhouse has a lot of useful amenities that I've enjoyed using in the past few months. The only downside is the distance to campus, it takes a couple of extra minutes to get to class, but my low rent makes it worth it. Can't wait to resign my lease and stay here longer!

Living here for a couple months and so far so good! Area is always beautiful and you can tell this community is loved and taken cared of. Amazon Hub here is a wonderful addition because my packages are always safe and secure until I’m ready to get it. Communication is pretty good between the office and the person(s) living here. but the only gripe I’ve had was a week prior to moving, I had to reach out myself to get the information I needed rather than the leasing office service me. Only small gripe!

Whenever something goes wrong and I put in a maintenance request my problems always get solved shortly after. The leasing office staff really takes the time out to work with you and solve any issues that may arrive Great cost and amenities!

Overall Castle Pointe offers a lot of great amenitites. Since living here they are constantly updating and improving the grounds. Management and maintenance are always quick to reply and help with whatever you're struggling with. Not the most modern apartments but they are clean and well ran.

Having moved from out of town it was hard to find a great place for our family. When we came here it fit the bill and more. The apartment is spacious, the two bedrooms two bathrooms we live in is great. The organization of the front desk is amazing, the maintenance crew is timely and courteous, the amenities are great, and they have some fun community events too. An indoor pool, Amazon hub and 24 hr gym access are the best things about this place.

The maintenance team is very responsive and helpful. The equipment is good, and there are many amenities, including tennis court and basketball court and swimming pool. It is close to meijer and also bus stop.

Rent is a lot lower compared to many other apartments in the area and near MSU. There are several stops for bus 24, which will take you directly to MSU or Meijer. The apartment complex looks pretty good in general. There is a pond with a fountain and small dog park where there are always geese and ducks. Great scenery there. Close to food, gas station, etc. Surrounding area is usually quiet and calm. Everyone I have met has been very friendly. There are always people out walking their dogs or exercising. Leasing office has a good gym, pool, and yoga room. Not to mention a tennis court, basketball court, and a volleyball area outside. Really cool Amazon package delivery storage in the leasing office. You get a specific code and that opens a door to your package. I have lived here for about 4 years.

Castlepointe apartments are where to live in East lansing. They are a quiet place for students and families a like. They have great amenities such as a new onsite dog park for your dogs to run, new resurfaced tennis and basketball courts. They have a nice gym and an indoor/outdoor pool for swimming all year around. They hold events for residents. Overall the staff in the office an maintenance are very friendly and helpful.

I love living here. We have lived here for two years now, and it is so full of life from students, HOWEVER it is not a major college property. East Lansing downtown is really close, but it is far enough away that you can feel like you're getting away from the craziness and relax. It's so quiet that if you're currently working from home you won't have to constantly close doors and windows to keep the sounds out. And if you're looking for a place to have kids or dogs, this is a great place as well. There isn't too much going on for them to be confused all the time. Anyway, LOVE IT!

As a veterinary student I wanted to be close to the school, in a quiet place that had all the amenities of a place by campus. It is perfect! My 2 bed, 1 bath is perfect for me, my roommate and our cat and dog. It is quiet and homey and just the right distance to East Lansing to feel like I am not at school all the time. Maintenance comes the next day if I have a problem, my packages come quickly and I love having the over-hanging parking in the winter. My dog loves the dog park and overall it is a wonderful place to live.

I highly recommend Castle Pointe to just about anyone looking for an affordable apartment in the East Lansing area! There is a great mix of people, from families to college-age students! It is great community with pretty much every amenity you could ask for. The staff is also very friendly, and the maintenance staff is very responsive and helpful. For what you get for the price, you really can’t beat it.

I have lived at castle pointe for almost two years now while attending grad school. It has been a wonderful place to live! The staff are very friendly and maintenance staff is wonderful and always on top of it (something we have not had at other complexes). Excellent amenities + they just added a dog run/park:) lots of space to walk around with a nature reserve at the back of the property. Thanks castle pointe!

I have lived at Castle Pointe for the past three years and absolutely love it! The maintenance always responds quickly and efficiently. They also just built a dog park just behind my apartment and I love watching the doggos running around and playing. 10/10 recommend.

Good spacious apartments at a great price for the location. Grounds and surrounding area are extremely well kept. Indoor and outdoor pool plus a gym and sauna. Just a great place to start anew.

Been here at Castle Point for about 5 months now! I completely love it, great workout room, nice pool and an amazing basketball court with great views! I highly recommend living at Castle Point! As rent is very cheap compared to all the great things that are included!

When shopping apartments in this city, your choices are mostly cheap college housing or overpriced "luxury" condos - Castle Pointe is better than both. Without too high of pricing or compromising quality, the options here are better than most, and something I will stick around for. Make sure you tour here before signing anywhere else in East Lansing.

I’ve lived here for about 3 months now, and I really like it. They put in brand new carpet, painted the walls, and deep cleaned before I moved in. I haven’t had any problems so far and everything looked great when I moved in. Sharon is awesome to work with in the leasing office. I feel safe and there’s always available open parking. My only complaint is that you can only use the amenities when the leasing office is open, so from 9-6 pm. I work all day, as well as most other people. In order to use the gym, pool, or get packages, I have to purchase a $70 key fob to get into the building to use those amenities. This key fob should be free with the money we’re paying to live here. Other than that, I have no complaints!

After having a disastrous experience with a previous property I lived in, Castle Pointe truly made up for it! This is a great place to live. It’s super family and student friendly. I pay a great price for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit, and the monthly utility bills are very inexpensive. Maintenance staff is very quick to fix or help with anything I need. They even replaced my carpet before I moved in so I had brand new carpeting by my move-in date. The area is very calm and beautiful, people are active in the neighborhood, and there are many fun activities the staff host for residents. I have lived here for a few months now, and I don’t think I would live anywhere else.

I've lived in the East Lansing area for about 10 years now. I was here as an undergrad, moved away briefly, and then returned as a graduate student. I've lived on campus, in privately owned rentals, and in apartments owned by large companies in the area. Since returning as a graduate student, I've lived in the same unit at Castlepointe for almost four years now, which is the longest I've stayed in any one rental unit in the area. I plan to stay here until I graduate and move elsewhere. The apartments are older buildings, but comparable in age/ set-up to many of the non-luxury units available through other rental companies. However, the experience with management sets these units apart. Our apartment is well maintained, and management is very responsive to any problems that arise. I've placed a handful of maintenance requests over the years for small things, all of which were resolved quickly and courteously. The complex is also pet friendly, without exorbitant pet fees. I pay a fraction of the rent I paid for smaller units closer to campus, and as a graduate student I'm happy to be a little further away from student living. That being said, we're still close enough that campus is very easy to access. While living here, I've commuted to campus by car, bike, and bus. All three are easy options. In the same time, my partner has worked in downtown Lansing and in Okemos - both were also easy commutes by car. These apartments are also not lacking in amenities - Amazon lockers for packages and the full gym are both very convenient. The tennis courts are an added bonus in the summer, and there are lots of nearby trails to walk, bike or run. The free covered parking is another bonus in the winter. The only amenity that is lacking is on-site recycling, but with several free recycling drop-offs in the area, this isn't a deal breaker for me. We will happily sign our lease again when it's up.

Great surrounding pond, ducks, kids park and many more things. In addition to that friendly staff who also organized many events for residents. FUN FUN!

Castle pointe apartments are a great place to live. They are roomy apartments mine is a 2bd 2 bath and it’s 1002sft. They have great amenities such as a heated indoor pool a gym with updated equipment a yoga room and an outdoor pool. They have a basketball court a play area eve. A volleyball pit with net. Plenty of nature and a friendly staff

My girlfriend and I moved in almost 3 years ago and love our apartment. We first requested a 3 bedroom apartment because there are 2 teens of hers so we needed the space. One was not available until about July. They were able to put us in a 2 bedroom until the 3 bedroom was available which was really nice of them to do for us. The community of people and staff are very friendly and never had any issues except getting a part for our garbage disposal that took a little while, but was fixed. Would recommend this place to my friends and family if they are looking to a place in the East Lansing area.

Joe_B • Resident • 2018 I feel since I am an older person they charged me a month and a half security deposit. Maybe they wanted me to back out. I put a down payment on an larger one bed apartment and they called me the day before I was supposed to move in to tell me the apartment was no longer available. I then was told the only first floor apartment is smaller but available in a couple days. I wish I took the hint. When I seen the replacement apartment the place was a mess but the leasing person said the apartment still needs to be cleaned. I came back a few days later to sign my lease and went into the apartment and the air was at 65 degrees. I found out the next day when I lowered the air and the apartment started warming up that the air was on to hide the dog urine smell in the carpeting, I also went to the closet and found mold in the closet. I figured out that my apartment was never cleaned. Even now with daily vacuuming due to my dog and cat allergies I cannot remove the smell. I walk with white socks and within and hour in the apartment the bottom of my socks are brown from the dirt. Nasty place. I asked the leasing person and they said they paid a company to clean and were going to ask for them to come back. I never heard from either the leasing person or the outsourced company. The carpeting is all spotted with what seems to be from dog droppings. I also had this apartment because it has a laundry room across from it. I moved in a 6 weeks ago and the washing machine never worked, there is only one machine. The worst is that a cell phone does not work in the units, I had to get WiFi calling phone make a call. Truly a terrible place to live, with my allergies, I do not think I will be able to live in this filth for a full year. Stay away from this place.

This place was horrendous from month one, and I was unlucky enough to have a twelve month lease. Everything was broken in the first month I.e. dishwasher, and garbage disposal, the air conditioning, 85% of the plugs and jacks. There are frequent power outages. The staff was always rude, unhelpful, petty, and VERY spiteful. Asking them to do their jobs was like trying to push a mule. When they were unhappy with our early reviews they tacked on charges to our rent, messed up our lease agreement, left one of our dogs off the lease until 6 months in, also the apartment flooded, into the electrics of the apartment, and no one wanted to fix the problem before anyone got hurt, also the fridge broke down, and all of maintenance was reluctant to fix, every intern they had has quit. They really are terrible, these are only the experiences I had, I have several acquaintances that live in the complex with similar problems, and are preparing to move away.

BEWARE: DO NOT RENT HERE they will try to overcharge you then take you to court when you don’t pay the over charge, among many many other things. INFESTED WITH BUGS Worst place I’ve EVER lived and I’ve lived in Watts neighborhood in Los Angeles. Management is massively disorganized, has awful communication, doesn’t work with you, will NOT meet with you. Celceila is alright but the rest of the office is absolute trash. They seem so nice when you sign a lease. I almost gave them a 5 star review a few months ago but the minute you sign the lease they forget about you until they can make more money and send you to court. DO NOT LIVE HERE. I REPEAT DO NOT LIVE HERE. Ever met someone who just ruins your day the minute you see them? That’s Castle Point Apartments. I couldn’t save myself but maybe I can save you. Please I’m begging you to not live here and be miserable with the rest of us.

We were initially attracted to the idea of a low cost place, with so many amenities, and we could have our dogs too! However, from the time that we moved in it's been a constant battle with the office staff, maintenance, and so on and so forth.... Everything in the apartment was given to us broken, the office staff throws out maintenance request most of the time, and when maintenance does finally show they won't fix anything to it's entirety. The grounds are okay, lot's of walking room for our dogs, but with it being such a popular area brings negative attention as well. More con's than pro's with this place, and it's super expensive for what you actually get. Very displease.

I wouldn’t refer this apartment complex to anyone. Maintenance is slow if they even come to your apartment at all. They try every quick fix in the book instead of actually fixing the problem. AC was broken on the hottest days of the year. Heat works but the windows are so old that no heat exists in the bedroom. Leasing office doesn’t even take down your maintence requests half the time. I can’t wait till my lease is up. Leasing staff tried to hound me about a payment that was apparently reversed and tried to make me pay an extra whole month of rent when if they would have just took the time to look at the transaction they could have easily seen it was a mistake on their part and an issue with their accountant. All in all even though I saved money by getting a pretty decent discount it still wasn’t worth it.

Castle Pointe Apartments in East Lansing is terribly over priced and not worth your money. They are unresponsive to repairs that need fixing and general maintenance that needs upkeep, including leaks and furnace issues. I have lived at Castle Pointe for almost one year and knew within the first few weeks I would not be renewing my lease. The management is absolutely terrible and do not listen/respond to feedback. Upon moving into my apartment (literally that day) there were several things they stated would be repaired, replaced, and repainted. Several of these items have yet to be taken care of and its almost one year later. I expect this level of poor service from an apartment complex that has MUCH lower rent. Castle Pointe advertises their amenities and their wonderful location but this does not, and should not, overshadow the apartment neglect. The pond constantly has trash in it. The potholes take months before they are repaired, if ever. The gym is not open in the evenings unless you pay extra to get a pass to use it. My carport has been damaged since before I moved in and has not been repaired. Additionally, another woman does not park under her carport because there is a large whole above her car where a tree branch fell down and broke the roof. I am extremely disappointed in this apartment complex and would not recommend them to anyone.

Do not go there if you expect clean apartments, no bugs in your room, fair lease terms and respectful customer service!

All these good reviews are by people in the office. This place is the worst. Management and staff are horrible. They will take advantage of you if you seem nice, young, and naive. They're horrible people, and the apartments are horrible as well. Don't live here. Ever. I would give a negative-star rating if possible.

I have just moved into my one bed/one bath and so far my experience has been wonderful. The leasing office agent that I worked with was very helpful. I do like how many amenities come with this apartment complex. It is a very big apartment complex with beautiful scenery not far from Michigan State Universities campus.

I have lived in many apartments, but Castlepointe has been the most rewarding. My family enjoys all of the indoor and outdoor activities. We fully take advantage of the opportunity to exercise year round in the pool and workout room. The fitness area has several machines for cardio and weightlifting, which is also unlike most apartments that only offer a few machines.The inside and outside common areas are always well maintained and clean. The staff and maintenance team always go above and beyond to make the community feel like home. Our apartment is spacious and quiet. The neighbors are friendly, and the location is close to nightlife, shopping, and beautiful parks. I am happy we chose a wonderful community to live in.
