Santa Clara combines technological innovation with historical charm. Located in Silicon Valley, the city hosts major employers like Intel, Nvidia, and Applied Materials, while offering diverse housing options throughout its neighborhoods. The rental market reflects strong demand, with average rents ranging from $2,780 for studios to $3,851 for two-bedroom units. The area around Santa Clara University adds educational energy to the community, while the district near Levi's Stadium offers convenient access to NFL games and events.
Santa Clara residents enjoy California's Great America theme park and the Mission Santa Clara de Asís, which dates to 1777 and inspired the city's "Mission City" nickname. The Mediterranean climate features summer temperatures around 82°F with mild winters, perfect for exploring local parks and trails. The city operates its own electric utility, Silicon Valley Power, providing residents with lower electricity rates compared to neighboring communities.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Carlyle
Positives: The units in this 20+ year-old complex are roomy compared to the shoebox-size apartments in the newer mid-rise and high-rise complexs in the Valley. The place is pretty well-maintained. It's relatively quiet, depending on which neighbors you have. Maintenance crew is responsive and pleasant. Negatives: Expensive compared to other nearby complexes, and they will try to hike your rent every year. Plan not to get any of your security deposit back even if you leave the apartment spotless. There's a gym but it has been closed for over a year due to a painfully slow remodeling of the leasing center building. The rules for the complex are not always enforced (like tenants storing junk on their balconies). Not a particularly friendly community. Very transient. Regular break-ins in the mailboxes. Typical corporate management. Friendly but not always helpful. High turnover.
Property Manager at Carlyle, Responded To This Review
Hello there, We apologize if you have had a negative experience at our community. We are all trying to navigate the best we can with the renovations and enhancements to the property, we are looking forward for Summer 2024 when this is completed. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and will take your feedback into consideration to improve our services. Sincerely- Pamela Petersen- Community Manager.
The property management does not provide clear guidelines/ any proper information. We don't find enough parking spaces inside the community to park (no designated spots). However the property manager makes false claims to find ample spots during lease sign. Also our cars get towed without any notice there by in-curing very huge fines to residents. Very unfriendly/ bad management

My husband and I have lived here a little over a year, and we find it quiet and very well maintained! Mike and Jesus are the maintenance guys, and they are friendly and courteous, and very responsive. Nicole, the manager, is always smiling and helpful. Great amenities like onsite dry cleaning services, gym, pool. Nice neighbors, too!
