San Ramon, less than an hour away from both Oakland and San Francisco, is a golfer’s paradise. There are a variety of options when it comes to choosing where you’d like to practice your golf swing, including the Bridges Golf Club, San Ramon Golf Club, and Canyon Lakes Golf Course and Brewery.

You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy renting in San Ramon. The volunteer-run Forest Home Farms Historic Park is an effort committed to preserving history. You can view a slice of life from late 19th and early 20th centuries when you tour the farm and the Glass House Museum on site.

With more than 50 parks in the San Ramon city limits, it’s easy to find a place to delight in nature and partake in outdoor activities. Nearby Las Trampas Regional Wilderness is a massive park with extensive trail systems for hikers and horseback riders as well as prime bird and wildlife views. Head over to the Golden Skate, an all-ages roller rink, if you prefer to be active indoors.

I absolutely love living here! The management, leasing staff, and maintenance team are all wonderful. they do a fantastic job keeping everything clean, tidy and well-maintained. Everyone is so friendly-they always say hello with a smile and go out of their way to make sure residents are taken care of. I truly appreciate the care and attention they give to the community. The setting is quiet, peaceful and open. There is a feeling of safety and comfort. Front Porch and Back Patio invite residents to relax create their best personal space to relax and enjoy in as often as they can. Everything’s perfect, especially in the morning. So peaceful and calm. But it’s just a struggle to walk on the driveway because the golf course is prohibited.

However, the golf course is a separate business, and we are not permitted to walk on the paths designated for golf carts. Walking on the course can be dangerous, as there’s a risk of being hit by a golf ball. I have lived at Canyon Woods apartments for almost a year. It is centrally located which makes it a convenient place to live. The first floor patio is a terrific size. The 1 bedroom apartment is a good layout and size. I have enjoyed living here.

BEWARE!!!

BEWARE!!! Monthly rent increased by nearly $500 in 3 years! That is an increment of nearly $5,500 - $6,000 per year! Additionally, the utility charge was a flat $95 until last year. This year, during lease renewal, they added a term called "a more fair and equitable method of calculating utility charge." Who would think that this means they are going to increase the utility charge by 120%? According to them, a "more fair and equitable method of calculating utility charge" means increasing it from $95 to $210. So, I strongly recommend: BEWARE before you move in here. I'm paying for my laziness.

Could Not Have Enjoyed More!!!

I have lived at Canyon Woods for about 20 months and I could not have possibly enjoyed my time here more. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The manager and leasing agent I worked with went out of their way to be courteous and pleasant. The apartments are absolutely wonderful, with all of the modern amenities you would want. They are pet friendly and even the neighbors are respectful and quiet. I can honestly say I have not had a single problem living here and if I was not moving out of state for family reasons, I would probably never leave! I happened to be in a bit of spot when I moved in so I had to lease sight unseen. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made! If you are considering this community as a home, I could not give you a bigger recommendation to go ahead and move it!

Canyon Woods is a hidden jewel tucked away from the main road. The gated community is accessed by driving up a lengthy tree and rosebush-lined drive that could pass for the entrance to a luxury mansion. Being this far removed from the road eliminates any street or traffic noise. Friends who visit can't get over how peaceful and quiet it is. The grounds are well landscaped. The blossoming cherry trees are particularly beautiful. In the main courtyard there is a tranquil water feature that looks like a running creek connecting two ponds via 2 small waterfalls. 2 bridges provide seating for relaxing and watching the flowing water. There are no houses or buildings in sight from the complex, just a view of the adjacent golf greens and the rolling hills. The apartments are well designed and appointed. I have found the neighbors to be friendly and helpful. It is a pet friendly community and is a safe place to walk dogs. The location can't be beat. The street at the entrance to the community is beautifully landscaped, so the sidewalks are a pleasure for a nice walk. Within walking distance is the Market Place, which has many restaurants, a Trader Joes, CVS and other convenient services. There is a nearby gas station as well as a hotel for out of town guests. Great location, nice comfortable place to live.

Canyon Woods is great place to live. Families with children as well as singles can find comfort living in well-maintained, gated community that offers so many great amenities. Those include but are not limited to: two swimming pools, sauna, two gyms, nice grounds along the golf course, events organized by management etc. Units are spacious and have good floor plans. If one works at Bishop Ranch, it is a walking distance away. We have been living here over 5 years and love it. The rent is surely on the higher side which is probably the only thing I could complain about.

Good location. Lovely nonsmoking community. Generally clean territory. But often overflowing and smelling garbage containers. High audibility. You will know everything about your neighbors: when they are doing laundry, using dishwasher, taking a shower and even sneezing. I think, it's a bit pricey for what you getting.

Love that community covers a large parcel of land, great for getting in a few miles jogging or walk before going or after work. Feel comfortable here, like the landscape, seems more peaceful than other places and I do recommend living here to family and friends. The carport parking is a bonus as I’ve lived with none in the past. Now I can say the maintenance and manager are very sweet. All the stores are really close by and I’ve recently enjoyed the local fair and tonight the A’s game. Thank you, Running water ??
