Living in Spartanburg combines historic charm with contemporary living in South Carolina's "Hub City." The community offers diverse housing options, from preserved homes in the Hampton Heights district to modern apartment communities throughout the city, with current average rents ranging from $1,089 for one-bedroom units to $1,390 for three-bedroom homes. Downtown Spartanburg features the Chapman Cultural Center and Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, adding to the area's cultural landscape. The Cottonwood Trail in the Edwin M. Griffin Nature Preserve offers scenic walking paths and outdoor recreation, while Wofford College and Converse University contribute to the city's educational environment.
Spartanburg's textile heritage remains visible in its historic mill villages, which have evolved into established residential neighborhoods alongside newer developments. The city's location near BMW's manufacturing facility has strengthened its economic base.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Canaan Pointe Apartments
My husband and I moved to South Carolina from Indiana, and we are very pleased that we chose Canaan Pointe Apartments. The management team is outstanding. They are friendly and have excellent communication as well as organization. The maintenance team is great as well with responding to requests very quickly. Everyone has went above and beyond to make sure we are taken care of. We are grateful to be here and would recommend!
This property has come a long way! I use to rent here about 8-9 years ago. Back then it was not so great. Due to it being one of the few places that offers 4 bedrooms in Spartanburg I may need to move back. I went in to get an application and I was greeted by a lady named Ms.Keri she was friendly and very easy to have a conversation with. I explained that I lived there a long time ago and was hesitant to come back. She explained how the property has changed and the current property manager took over about 6 years ago. She offered to take me on a tour which I wasn't going to do but very glad I did. It has changed so much and Ms. Keri was very informative she definitely helped me feel better about my choice to move back. After the tour we went back to the office and met the new PM and she was also very pleasant. Before I left Ms. Keri had given me the application with the information and told me she looks forward to seeing me again however if not she wishes me the best of luck. I must say I was very pleased with my visit the staff was great and Ms. Keri was not pushy like most leasing agents who are looking to get a quick lease for commission. The property has definitely come a long way and will be an option.
Property Manager at Canaan Pointe Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your interest in returning to our property. We have worked very hard to change the old image here. We are not perfect, however we try to provide a peaceful environment for all residents and guests of our community. I always refer to one of my favorite quotes " In a world where you can be anything,be kind".
I have lived here for 17 years and I have never had any problems. They keep the playground and parking lot area very clean. Renee and Daniel are very welcoming and nice people. They are quick to resolve any issues you may have. Maintenance responds very promptly to any problems you may have. It's very kid friendly also a police officer stays on the property to insure the safety of the residents. If I haven't purchased my own home then I would continue to live here.
This is my 2nd time living in Canaan Pointe Apts. I moved only because I wanted a downstairs bathroom. However, the mgmt of Canaan Pointe has proven to be the best most effective mgmt staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. My request are handled expediently and if there will be a delay, I’m given notice with an updated appointment. The units are spacious and so far once again no complaints. The soccer field and walking trail across the street are bonuses. I highly recommend calling Renee and Daniel for your housing needs!
I moved into Canaan Pointe in July and I am very pleased! The move in process was very smooth for me and my family. The office staff is very friendly and maintenance is very prompt in responding to any request! I am so glad I chose to move here!
I have lived in Canaan Pointe Since the property has opened. I am talking over 20 years ago. I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. However, I can honestly say that Renee and her staff are making huge improvements in this community. Home is what you make it remember that!!! It takes times for someone who cares to come in and turn a place around, and I definitely see the change for the better. If you follow the rules, keep your apartment clean, pay your rent and keep your guest under control you do not have any issues out of the staff here. It is just that simple! Every where you go no matter how much you pay you are going to have rules to follow. with that said; you are also going to have that annoying neighbor living above you, or beside you etc. Gated communities or high rise buildings there is going to be SOMETHING that makes you dissatisfied. Be real with yourself we DO NOT LIVE in a PERFECT WORLD. Follow the rules and keep it moving. If you do this it makes for such simple and easy living. No matter what you cannot make/keep everyone happy, and there is always going to be some folks that write bad reviews. Just like Hotels etc. Everyone has and can share their opinion. That is all it is an OPNION. See for yourself before you knock it. 20 Years here and going strong. NOT going anywhere anytime soon. Thank you Renee & Her staff for making a tremendous difference here at Canaan Pointe.
Illegally towing cars. Management sucks not professional at all. Never fix minor repairs. Always claiming to order parts.
this is a lie!!!! i lived there for 6 months, had to break my lease. roaches, loud noise, gang activity. my 6 year was chased home by children with 2x4's. children wandering all times of night. parking lot fights. very dangerous
