Surrey is Metro Vancouver’s second-largest municipality, home to about half a million residents and one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities. More than 40% of residents speak a first language other than English. Surrey offers a mild climate, forests, beaches, and golf courses, and is often more affordable than Vancouver for renters.
Known as the “City of Parks,” Surrey features around 600 parks and 277 trails, including favourites like Surrey Bend Regional Park and Mud Bay Park. Major events include the Surrey Children’s Festival, Surrey Fusion Festival, Tree Lighting Festival, Surrey Canada Day, and the Cloverdale Rodeo, one of the largest rodeos in Canada.
Dining highlights range from the Old Surrey Restaurant to Afghan Kitchen and Maguroguy Sushi and Grill.
