power washing of patio great job and washed the doors and sprayed down screen. would love to have a my old french door/sliding patio screen replaced with a new sliding door like my neighbors. Much more energy efficient.

5 stars I am very happy here with the apartment, the planned activities, the office staff, the maintenance crew, and especially the people in my building ??

water problem One or two times monthly the morning water from the kitchen faucet comes out as either a grayish/milky liquid or, this past Tuesday, as actual suds. This lasts for a few hours and is disgusting and unacceptable. Whoever is addressing this problem (I'm told it's a water softening calibration issue) can't seem to get it right. I would appreciate a permanent fix.

Garage Entry It looks like the new retaining walls to enter the Bldg 14 & 15 garages is completed. We have been very impressed with how this was done. The workers were very considerate of residents entering and leaving the garages. The finished project is beautiful and I believe it was completed in less time than projected. Well done!

1st month So far I have enjoyed the complex, staff and neighbors.

New Resident The entire process from originally calling to moving in has been so easy. Moving is always stressful but the Highlands welcomed me home.

Door width in hallways Moving couches thru narrow doorways was difficult otherwise it was excellent and we are looking forward to many fun years

Perfect Place Brookfield Highlands was a good move for me. I have met many people I now call my friends. This location is very handy to stores, theaters and not far from my former home.

Maintenance Everyone has been friendly an appears to be knowledgeable on fixing any maintenance problems.

I enjoy living here. Like anything else not everything is perfect, but this is now my home.

Snowfall We finally got some snow and you made sure that the driveways and roadways were cleared almost immediately. So important for those of us that need to get to work.

The machines in the fitness center keep breaking down. Management takes too long to repair them. Our ambassador lives in another building and does not care about our building. Many of the residents in our building have voiced their displeasure. Management is not interested in doing anything about it. We feal that we don't matter.

Light The one thing i miss most is not having windows in the apartment. Its a corner unit with one window in the bedroom. The patio doors are the only natural light in the apt.

Beautiful place This is a beautiful retirement community to call home

Great place, BUT.... I really enjoy living at Brookfield Highlands. I like the convenience, location, people, events, maintenenace team, etc. However, I continue to be extremely concerned over the increase in rent to the tune of 5%-8% annually. I don't understand how YOU guys don't understand that you have many retirees in your complexes on fixed incomes, but even for those who are still working, standard COL increases *CANNOT* keep up with the rent increases. My rent went up by $100 per MONTH this year, which is ridiculous! One would think that keeping rents LOW would make tenants want to stay longer...not want to leave because they're forced out financially. Also questioning some of the work done around the complex, such as...new patio lights? IMO, this was COMPLETELY unnecessary, the old ones worked well and looked lovely. Oh and BTW, around here, no one EVER goes out on their patio, from what I can see, so the whole thing seems like a giant moot point. Does the cost for all that (as well as recent updates to the landscaping) get rolled back into our increased rent? It does make me question things, as nice as this community is.

Recent Changes Why do we even have a area to get together and play cards and work on puzzles if were not going to be allowed, we were told we cannot do trash to treasures anymore, we did every other month on the first Saturday's of the month and enjoyed doing it. It did not bother anyone in our building. I am very confused we pay our rent, you tell us its our home we have to get windows cleaned ourselves, carpet done ourselves which is fine but it seems like we are starting to be treated as a nobody and the company just wants our money and does not want the people to enjoy living here. I love it here but it is really changing and in my opinion and many of the other tenants feel the same. It would be nice if you would meet with us instead of the ambassador passing the information on, we cannot express to the ambassador what we feel, because he does not feel qualified to answer the questions we had, which we agree with that is not part of what is expected from the Ambassador's. Please understand I do love living here, but some things are changing. I have other suggestions about the Apartment's to make them more appealing, but I am sure the idea would not even go over, plus its getting to the point where were afraid to ask because the rent will go up even more. Sorry for rambling but I am a little frustrated. Thank you!

Upkeep The maintenance and upkeep on the property is nothing but exceptional. Even all the little updates that seem minor are noticed. I would highly recommend anyone to living here. Friendly staff and residents. Absolutely no complaints!

Home Sweet Home Very happy residing for over three years in the Brookfield Highlands community. Staff is friendly and courteous, have made many friends and attend many of the events offered.

Comfortable Very comfortable and safe. Easy to get assistance when needed. People are friendly.

The maintenance crew are fantastic and very helpful and respond in a ahort time frame The social activities seem to be adequate, however i would like to see more variety

Maintenance We recently had a visit from the Maintenance Crew, and as always were very pleased with the work. In general, we are happy with the Brookfield Highlands "Experience".

Brookfield Highlands I have leased here for almost 3 years. Staff great, maintenance excellent, property awesome, location great, but don't tell anyone because full occupancy means lease renewals may go up!

The complex does an excellent job maintaining the grounds and buildings. The staff is wonderful

The maintenance crew is excellent and quick to respond. I don't think the rent needs to icrease every year and not at 8%!

Fix kitchen faucet Wish you offered a spayer faucet with the kitchen s8nk. All faucets are outdated. Also offer and install ahose for shower. One maintenance said they might have one but i guess you dont.

Cost As with most things today cost takes the lead. The apartments are lovely and very comfortable. My only concern is the rising cost of rent. It would be great to see a small decrease or even have it remain the same.

Floor repair Efficient and thorough. Polite and cleaned up nicely

Move-In It was as simple and organized as moving can be. Our movers were very happy with the speed of the elevator, since we had a second floor apartment.

Thanks to the age limit (55 ), we have a living environment that stays peaceful. The maintenance staff also quickly responds to issues. My hot water heater, for example, was replaced within two hours of a leak being detected. Overall, BH 55 is an apartment complex that believes in quality.

Still miss the original and much better dishwasher we had when we first moved in. But at least there is no water leaking from the dishwasher. As always, we appreciate our maintenance crew very much!

The maintenance crew deserve 5 stars also. Great variety of activities to choose from.

My wife and I enjoy attending the different events, and meals that are offered. We also like the way the billings and grounds are kept.

I am completely satisfied with the 4 years I've lived at the Highlands. Maintenance Staff and Office is superb.

I enjoy living here. If a maintenance request is made a quick response is given. The staff (all staff) are nice and friendly. Everything is kept clean in all the buildings. Office staff create many opportunities for entertainment and socialization.

My movers were absolutely excellent and everything was taken car of as exactly as planned. People here are very friendly and kind. I adore my ambassador Howard. He knows so much and had helped me beyond belief.

The walls and floors are paper thin. I wake up because of a dresser drawer slam or someone just moving around next door. Not a problem if your hearing isn’t good but mine is. Carpets are worn and dirty in my building but more than anything what prompted this review is the complete incompetency of the management office, director. If there is a noise issue or, say someone smoking in the apartment near you (this is a no smoking community) the director lacks the ability to resolve such issues and people are moving out because of it. She double charged me a deposit of $500 unauthorized and posted my unit here as available when I haven’t formally given notice. The community is nice but one person’s complete incompetence has destroyed my trust in wanting to have any business dealings whatsoever here. I lost three months of life fighting for my rights legally and am running out of here fast.

Was not told about rent increase, but it happens every year to the tune of about $300 per year. Works out well for B.H. since Senior Citizens are pretty much a captive audience. And since Social Security NEVER gives a raise without also increasing the amount you have to pay for Medicare..... my rent has gone up significantly without any cost of living rate in my finances.
