Exploring History Live at Exchange Place

The Exchange Place is a living history farm located on Orebank Road. Visitors come to Exchange Place to experience what life was like back in the mid-1800s for area settlers. The 62-acre farm once housed a plantation, stagecoach relay station, and post office in its 160-year history. Visitors can tour many of its original buildings, such as the main home, school, and blacksmith forge. Basket weaving and candle dipping demonstrations are also available on the grounds.

Discover the Constellations at Bays Mountain Park Planetarium

Cool off at the town planetarium while uncovering the world outside of our own at Bays Mountain Park! The planetarium’s state-of-the-art 40-foot dome and star projector displays twenty-four unique constellations. Many short films will also be premiering at the planetarium theater in the coming months, including Seeing!, Appalachian Skies – Spring, and Back to the Moon for Good.

Catch a Mets Game at Hunter Wright Stadium

Unwind and chill with the Kingsport Mets this spring! Hunter Wright Stadium boasts a lot of great concessions for its minor league team. Be sure to grab your tickets soon – the home opener game against the Princeton Rays is June 19th!

Enjoy a (Beer) Flight at Sleepy Owl Brewery

With various selections of beers on tap, there’s surely a brew for everyone’s taste and palate. The taproom at Sleepy Owl Brewery is open from 4 o’clock in the afternoon to 9 o’clock at night. Bands play live music throughout the week, and you can grab a quick bite at the food trucks that park out front.
