Bishop Hill Apartments

There’s no question that the maintenance department is in constant need in apartment living. They do a good job responding quickly for the most part and are professional. Exterminating practices need to be stepped up & addressed.

New to the apartment experience, most of the features in the apartment met expectations not everything, quick maintenance support on requests made. There could be improvements. However so far it is going great...

Wall and ceiling finishes are not done well. Unwanted mice, roaches and ants are a year round problem. Mice run across the living room on a regular basis. Look elsewhere!

Been here for 3 years, different maintenance “management” each year due to complaints, had hole/water damage (leaking) in bedroom ceiling that each time I called they just painted over so by the next time it rained the water damage would continue, finally had people install n the roof fixing the problem the correct way 2 months before I’m scheduled to move Other then maintenance it’s a quiet neighborhood, great location Property does have a mice and roach problem (they inform u about the mice when u lock down your apartment)

Mice infested, even though they say they need to give you notice before they do work on things they don't, far too expensive for what is actually offered, people don't pick up after their dogs and the complex doesn't enforce it, cars get broken into seemingly regularly, and apparently stabbings happen in the parking lot too which they also say they can't do anything about because they will not put cameras up around the complex!

I currently live at Woodward and I must say it is terrible. There is a mice problem. They claim they are fixing it but nothing gets fixed. The staff is lazy and the maintenance people do not come when they are called and they don’t get anything fixed. They are raising the prices but the quality of the apartments are still trash. It is not worth it, the pool is never open and neither is the gym. You are better off find a better quality apartment for these prices.

Miss Vanessa was polite and very professional. The overall experience was awesome.

The ladies who work at the office lack customer service. They always seem uninterested and unhappy about their jobs. Their responses are very discouraging. You’ll think for an apartment with this price their customer service will be better. The units are nice but I try to avoid contacting the office by all means necessary.

I like the location, its near Acme and Modell, and the place is clean, and they are pleasant and professional. And they are organized with everything.

Emily was a big help throughout the whole process. There wasn’t a moment where I felt like nothing was communicated. The location is great, the service is great, and I will be recommending Bishop to others.

Everybody in office was very responsive and helpful in the whole moving process.

These apartments are nice. But you get what you pay for. We lived here for about 18 months and we had about 5-6 mice throughout that time. We spent a lot of money on traps and had the exterminator come multiple times and nothing changed. We are not dirty people by any means, vacuumed all of the time and had to keep most of our food in the fridge, but still tons of mouse poop and remnants under the sink and even on our stove top. We also had water damage in our apartment as well which lead to mold and the wall disintegrating. Workers tried to fix it but nothing changed. The residents also don't help. They'll leave the garbage right by the door inside and outside so all types of critters will come and eat it, which attracts more. On the plus side, they change the rug every time someone moves in or out.

First off, my review is only based on my own experience, it's not to negate anyone else's, good or bad. That said, the experience I've had with Bishop Hill was very pleasant from start to finish. I moved out of my previous house at the end of September 2017, and didn't move into my new home until November 2017, so I had to secure a short term lease (which wasn't an easy task). I settled on Bishop Hill because the location was very convenient, and that it seemed to be a well-maintained community. Carlie, my rep, quickly responded to my many questions and offered me a three month lease (I wanted month-to-month, but I guess 3 months is better than 12!). One of the first questions I asked was about any potential pest problems in the units. I've never had that problem in any home I've lived in, so that was a major concern of mine. They didn't guarantee I wouldn't have any, but did tell me that maintenance would respond quickly if there were any such issues. Fortunately, my unit was pest free the entire time I was there! The apartment was completely modernized, and I really felt I spent a couple of months in a nice hotel. I did have one issue...I came home one day and all my electricity was shut off! True to their word though, I called Debbie, the manager, and Lou came over and fixed the problem, literally within 5 minutes. I can't thank Carlie, Wanda, and Debbie enough for the experience I've had there. It was my first apartment experience in over 15 years (hopefully my last one), but if I had to do it again, I would go back to Bishop Hill without hesitation. Their staff is a rare combination of friendly and professional!

Really sad to mention here. I have been in Bishop Hill for the last two years and now we came across two back to back gun point robberies in a week which happened during the night 7:30 to 8:30 pm in M and P block. The lighting in the car park is very dull and no security cameras which gives the thieves more opportunity. Tenants are really afraid and want to move out of this place if the issue is not rectified. Apart from this there is always mice problem.

Recently there have been 2 back to back cases of robbery at gun point in the apartment premises. On 21st and 25th November 2017. Both times between 7 and 8 pm which is not too late. Entire apartment area is poorly lit. There is no CCTV camera. It is very very risky. Management is not taking any corrective steps even after repeatedly raising concerns.

Bishop Hill is a very safe environment to live at. The apartment is big and spacious giving you enough room to place furniture. The maintenance staff are great!! And if you need work done in your apartment, I would recommend that you ask for Anthony S. He is a very hardworking maintenance guy.

I've been here for seven months and I regret moving here! I hear mice running across the ceiling while I lay in the bed. I've seen numerous mice in my apartment as well as cock roaches in my kitchen sink and in one of my bedrooms. I complain and the only thing they do is come lay glue traps. The heat was broke for almost two weeks. When the pool is closed there's nothing nor anywhere for children to play. The fitness center has outdated equipment and million and one tread mills if that's your thing. Needless to say I will not be renewing my lease I wish I could leave tomorrow but we all know how that goes. When paying $1200 a month I DO NOT want to have rodents around me!

A very nice and quite place. It is nicely maintained. They offer variety of floor plans other accommodations with so reasonable rent.The pool and gym are clean & very useful. So better to call it homes.There are plenty of parking places within the complex. Also the complex is so big that you can easily take your evening and night strolls without going somewhere else. Moreover, it is conveniently located close to grocery stores, SEPTA and lots of restaurants. We moved here three months ago.Overall we are very satisfied with our new home choice.

This apt is really expensive and doesn't offer much.

Hi: I don't like these apartments there to small and i saw a rat running around in my apartment.

This complex is perfection. The ideal location, accomodating management and affordable rent makes Bishop Hil Apartments the perfect place to call home. The common areas inviting, the grounds are beautifully landscaped and the pool is clean and well kept. The buildings are spread out with a variety of floorplans and sizes in order to meet the needs of anyone and everyone looking for an apartment. The diversity, privacy, and complexity of Bishop Hill should be a model for other apartments to aspire to.

Maintenance is pathetic. For any maintenance activity, you have to call them several times. There r 3 old ladies in the office and you speak to different people different times about the same issue and also remind them several times. This is not your job but still you are forced to do so because they do not do their job. They do not keep track of their maintenance tickets. Even then they won't address the issue because they say their workers are too busy. They are least concerned about your issues. If you ask during summer, they say their guys are busy working on high priority items like fixing air conditioners. If you ask them during fall / rain, they say their guys are busy working on high priority items like fixing leaking roofs, cleaning the dried leaves on their landscape. If you ask them during winter, they say their guys are busy cleaning the snow and fixing the heaters. If you ask them during spring, they say their guys are busy mowing the lawn. They make you get frustrated throughout the year.

In our experience thus far we have had a lot of problems with the office staff and general maintenance facilities in the apartment complex. They do not seem to care about the needs of the residents and take their own sweet time to address complaints. Despite not providing timely maintenance they are rude , unprofessional and do not respond to any follow up on the matter. Only plus point of the apartment complex is its location. Its proximity to the major stores draws many clients but the story inside is a totally different picture.
