Property Ratings at Birkhill Apartments
I applied and paid the 535.00 for application and security deposit which was cashed within hours on the day I applied. I was told I should hear back within a few hours. Honestly I knew that the process would be longer. I was told two days later the application had been processed and was with the Regional manager. Two weeks later imy file still wasn't reviewed. I called corporate and left a message. The next morning I was denied due to I moved out early in another state. I followed the lease and both the landlord signed off on it. I gave 90 days notice, received my full deposit back and paid the required fee the day after I received the bill. I also was upfront about this situation at the time I put in my application.. Management wouldn't speak with me about their decision so I wrote this review to say I had hoped EMG would have been willing to talk with a 69 year old retired.woman so I'd have a proper closure. Thank you for reading this review.
I'd give this place a 0 if I could. It took over 3 wks for my application to get approved and that wasn't even for income restricted. I didn't get approved until 630pm the night before I was to be out of old place. Then I was hit with a bunch of unexpected surprises when I went to sign the lease. Not to mention, I wasn't allowed to even move in until 430pm and I hadn't even view my specific unit until then. Oh and maintenance, what a joke. I still haven't gotten anything fixed that was on my move-in walk through list. This place is gross and needs a make over. Hotels are cleaner than my unit was at move in.
They are growing too quickly to keep up, the office staff turnover rate is astounding. The fees keep going up and up (50% increase on storage fees). The “market rent” is outrageous when you realize how many corners they cut building the place. And....the smoke alarms go off constantly. Fix this please. It’s creating an unsafe environment where residents no longer take them seriously, as well as wasting the fire department’s resources. Owners/management: be more transparent and accessible, stop raising rents/fees to help fund the “next phases.” You run a mostly low income building, most of them can’t afford that I’d assume.
The management is a nightmare. Applied for low income housing which they offer plus I have a voucher but it took three weeks to get them to give me an answer whether or not they would rent to me. Even though the girl kept telling me there was no issue I was turned down because of an $20 unpaid utility bill from a different state10 years ago. I would NOT recommend dealing with this management company. Three weeks to find out about a living condition is unacceptable.
Birkhill Apartments are centrally located in the Salt Lake Valley, just a couple blocks from the freeway and right across the street from Trax, making commute a breeze. I love the amenities offered, we have a pool and beautiful clubhouse. Birkhill is pet-friendly with an outdoor dog area perfect for urban living. The apartments are new, so everything is modern and the common area decor is fabulous. My favorite thing about the apartment extras are washer/dryer in unit, built-in microwave, balconies and roomy one bedrooms with space for storage. The building and garage are key-entry only, making it feel safe and exclusive. Also our management team is wonderful, always so helpful. Such a great place, would definitely recommend. Love living here!
Beautiful apartment but we've lived here for a year and now everything is falling apart maintenance doesn't do their job. Great apartment in the beginning but now can't wait to move
This is a great apartment with great amenities. The community has a great staff, with many community features that you expect in apartment complexes: fitness room, community meeting room, playground, pool. What sets Birkhill apart from the others is that they also have lovely courtyards with gas grills and out door tables for cook outs. The seating area near the pool with a fire pit is another great feature. The apartments themselves have upscale finishes including granite counters and they have washers and dryers included. Centrally located in Murray, close to Trax and the freeways. Its also very save with a gated parking garage. Last but not least is the great staff! They make you feel welcome and like part of a community and not just another nameless tenant. I'm looking forward to living here for many years and will move to the new 55 building when it opens later this year.
