The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Bell Morningside
We lived at Bell Morningside (formerly Sidney) twice. It’s a great walkable location to Virginia Highlands and Emory, large apartments, excellent property management and responsive maintenance. The apartments are large and quiet. Amenities like nice salt water pool and work out areas. A dog park also. It’s a nice tucked away friendly place to live.
Property Manager at Bell Morningside, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much Darlene for the amazing review. We love that you and your husband are part of The Bell Morningside community!
The Sidney at Morningside is a GREAT place to live- in my opinion it does not get any better inside the perimeter. The community director is very personable and friendly. He has a permanent grin and would give you the shirt off his back. You can also tell he treats his staff with respect, which I admire. Awesome director. His staff is just as genuine, from reception/sales to maintenance. They also treated our dog, Riley, like their own. 5 stars. The location is absolutely perfect. You're a neighborhood walk away from the Morningside and Virginia Highlands areas. I worked downtown and never had an issue with the commute. Very close to Inman Park, Ponce City Market, Piedmont Park, Midtown, Emory, and Decatur. Centrally located around the spots I prefer to hang in and not too far from anything inside the perimeter. Easy commutes missing the highways. The apartments are huge and priced very competitively. Like any apartment living you'll hear your upstairs neighbors when they walk around with microwaves on their feet, but far better than most. I never once heard the neighbors beside me. I felt safe there and it's very dog friendly (dog park behind building). Overall it's a great community feel, great people and great management. If I were to move back to Atlanta, I wouldn't live anywhere else. (Also I never saw one cockroach)
My first four months at The Sidney were great and ROACH FREE, this soon changed after new management settled in around February. I started seeing cockroaches maybe around late March, it started out small at first, I'd occasionally see one in the kitchen or dining area. This soon became a daily encounter, I started to see them in my room and I even seen them coming out of the vents in the ceiling!! Despite frequent complaints about this to the leasing office, the pest problem still persisted and pest control did not help at all! I knew I had to vacate this place when I woke up one morning to a cockroach crawling on my arm! This was a VERY traumatizing event that caused me anxiety and insomnia for weeks! I am happy to be out of this roach infested place. Trash rooms on each floor were not kept clean, I've seen roaches coming out of the trash chutes in the trash room! There is actually not a place that I have not seen a roach!! This is a pet friendly apartment but people never picked up after their dogs, it was commonplace to see dog excrement throughout the entire complex (inside and outside) and community areas. I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you are comfortable living with roaches.
The M apartments are truly luxury apartments with upgraded finishes and great location in a beautiful neighborhood. High ceilings with crown moldings throughout. Beautiful dark wood floors in living areas with berber carpet in the bedrooms. large windows letting in tons of natural light. The kitchen is outfitted with granite countertops and nice black appliances - the kitchen is roomy with plenty of storage including a large pantry. Bedrooms are large with en suite bathrooms. Master suite includes large bathroom with soaking tub, double sinks, beautifully tiled separate shower. Nice large walk in closets in both bedrooms. Also, unlike most apartments, there is a powder room so guests do not have to use bathroom in bedrooms. The community areas are very well maintained- beautiful resort style salt water pool, club room with pool table and other games, movie room, and on site gym. Secured gated garage parking is a definite plus! The only downside of the M apartments is if you have a noisy or heavy walking upstairs neighbor - you can hear them move around above you. Most residents are very responsive to feedback and will try to minimize noise when asked. Residents are professionals, many working nearby at Emory, CDC, Children's Healthcare. Very family friendly and quiet building.
