Avant has very well kept modern apartments with friendly neighbors and even friendlier pets. If someone is looking for an apartment home that is close to the best of what suburban living has to offer they'd be well advised to give Avant at the Arboretum a try.

Maintenance staff is always fantastic! Office needs improvement but hopefully new management will make the difference. Avant is a beautiful property with a great location.
Do not live here. It is overpriced for what you get. Walls are paper thin, you can hear everyone. And management is horrible, they treat you like college students. Also, watch your car, mine got towed from inside the parking garage because staff makes errors on their paid parking registration list. Do not live here!
Looks nice on the outside...managing people will smile as they talk to you but are quick to threaten with a lawyer the next day. Extremely nasty, stay away or stay out of the way. Bad karmic energy lurks here.
This is the 1st time I ever sign my lease online without going to see it in person. I had to rely on reviews from other people/websites. From my intensive research, I learned that this apartment has ratings above 4.3/5 to 5/5 across multiple websites. Thank God, I signed with them. The move-in process was seamless, love the amenities, they keep everything clean and organize. They provide sanitizing wipes in the gym. There are cameras in all the entrances, including package room. The management is very communicative but don't overly bombard us with emails/notification. Anthony, the manager is just awesome. He is genuinely kind and always goes above and beyond. I didn't expect him to help me bring 5 of super heavy packages from the package room all the way to my apartment. Overall, the experience here has been perfect and will definitely recommend this apartment to anyone who wants a clean, quiet, well-managed place that doesn't cause any headaches! Highly recommended!
I can't say enough amazing things about Avant. My boyfriend and I recently moved in and the process has been truly seamless from start to finish. We have been working with Robin and she was truly a delight and helped us every step of the way. Everyone we have encountered in the office (shout-out to Anais as well!) has been warm, welcoming, and very friendly. We had a slight hiccup with being charged for an amenity we were told was comped as part of a rent special, but with one email it was taken care of. No questions asked. We've been very impressed by the efficiency and professionalism of the staff. You can tell they take pride in their community and care about the tenants! The community itself is wonderful too! Newer build, updated appliances, quiet (even though its dog friendly, no barking dogs!), friendly (neighbors actually say hi!), and clean (no trash in hallways, no dog poop around like other people have commented). I would also highly recommend splurging on a garage space; depending where you are located it can be a trek to get to your apartment from the back lot. So, keep that in mind when you tour and are thinking about where the unit is located! If you think rent is too high, check back around every so often for rent specials. We really lucked out and got a great deal on our unit for MUCH less than most communities in the area, and more sq footage to boot! The location is really amazing as well, right off 88 & 355 which makes it insanely easy to get around. Honestly, it's worth taking a tour! Never know what specials could be running until you tour!

Building is not well-kept. Carpets are constantly dirty, walls are beat up, cleaning service doesn’t even touch a good part of the building, and trash rooms are constantly dirty and overflowing with garbage. Building came under new management 5 months ago and has let the building deteriorate.

I would recommend for short term. The amount of money spent each month should go for a house, more space and an investment that can written off for tax purposes.
I love my peace and quiet. The property is very nice and leasing office employees are very pleasant and professional.
I loved my time at Avant. I would have stayed if it wasn't a deliberate choice to move in to the city with my Fiance.
Everything was great but constantly being talked down to and being treated like a child rudely on several occasions from Nathan was not very nice at all. Especially having family that has lived here since these apts opened up you would at least expect some common courtesy as a human being but nope not with Nathan. Ryan was very kind but the only reason I'm still getting this place with the Avant is because of my family history here. If it were not for that Nathan would have blown it for me already. No way I'd deal with his antics and terrible approach.
I would recommend this apartment community because of its age, the numerous amenities, peace and tranquility, and how modern and scaled up the facility is.
The building is built well, it is a quiet facility, the features are numerous, and the staff is so exceptional.
Cons: The hallway carpet stains should be removed in a timely manner. The overall cleanliness has declined. The outdoor waste baskets are constantly full. There should be some on-site storage. The monthly rental price is too high. Pros: The office staff is great. Being close to the highway is a major plus.
I would recommend due to location, safe environment and nice apartment/place to live. I would not recommend due to high monthly rent. It is also noisy on my floor, people running up and down the halls alot. Also, issues with people being messy and leaving trash around. Clearly not apartment's fault, but I feel it should be addressed more often. Also, if the people above have "hardwood" floors, it is VERY loud. I think they should have only done that on the first floor. Also, management should consider making the place "smoke free" as many other complexes are going to that. Too many people near me smoke and if the windows and doors are open, you can smell strongly in your apartment. Also, many people outside near the doors smoke. This is a big issue for me and my previous place was smoke free. Going smoke free is a big trend and for good reason. Other than that, staff is very nice and the website is great for paying rent online and submitting maintenance requests. Just too pricey for the size and quality and the smoking issue. I probably will not renew my lease due to those concerns.
The maintenance personnel are always awesome, professional, courteous and friendly.
The staff is extremely friendly and very organized when it comes to any sort of maintenance request. I have never had any sort of issues with the staff and would highly recommend Avant at the Arboretum to anyone interested in leasing a apartment.

We would have no problem in recommending the Avant to anyone who is looking in this area to rent. The location is close to expressways, area stores and restaurants. We are on the west side of the building and get to see some great sunsets and a very nice views of Morton Arboretum!
I love my home and Pat is a real sweetheart! The rest of the staff is also great! I do miss william. :)
The facility and staff are amazing. Other residents are selfish and do not take care of community living spaces. For example, stealing pool table balls, leaving trash in the courtyard, not being respectful with pets.

I would because the move in process was a breeze, the location is ideal and overall I've grown to love coming home. So far aside from the few concerns stated above, I am happy with my decision to move here.
Place is beautiful, very dog friendly, clean and evertyhing is up to date.
Feels safe, clean the staff is available, location is perfect, you can have pets, the pool and the workout room is really nice and Parking for visitors doesn't make it difficult for guests.
I would recommend this community to others, but I would advise them to wait for leasing specials or discounts.
If you are looking for a quiet, clean & luxury apartment then Avant is for you! It is conveniently located right off of 88 so you are pretty centrally located to a lot of activities. For me, I wanted to be close to the city but not too close, and this is perfect — only a 35 minute drive to the loop (not during rush hour). It is also close to Naperville, which has great nightlife, and is near the train station! There is a pool that is very quiet (not many children live here) so it made the summers and working by the pool awesome. This property is also extremely pet friendly!! Pricey, but definitely worth the look if you are searching for your next home!
