Property Ratings at Avana on Pine
I lived in this place for three years, and initially, it was a fantastic community. However, over time, it has steadily declined. The elevator has been under repair for nearly two years, and despite numerous promises, there has been no progress. Additionally, the other elevator has been out of service for months. It's frustrating and puzzling how the building continues to function this way. The water supply frequently experiences outages, and the pipes seem to deposit some strange gunk into one of the bathtubs in my apartment. To make matters worse, the fire alarm system throughout the community goes off so frequently that it's hard to believe it's a genuine emergency. Last weekend alone, it rang more than 20 times, disrupting our sleep at 2 am. Honestly, this community is turning into a complete joke. I've come to realize that there are much better complexes available, offering more amenities at the same price or even lower. Moving in here would be a huge mistake, and I strongly advise against it.

Get better management that actually cares about the community, keeping the complex clean and safe. Elevators are continually breaking down, sometimes both down at the same time. This is unacceptable. Issues with theft in the garage. Avana on Pine is grossly understaffed.

When I had first spoken to the leasing office they explained to me what one of their renovated units would look like as opposed to their non-renovated units. I immediately thought that there was no way I would ever want a non-renovated unit. Well, now here I am moving into a non-renovated unit and I am so happy that I did! The pricing is way better on these units, yet you still receive the same space, loft, spiral staircase, and more. The only thing, really, that's different are the warm tones in contrast to the renovated white and grey tones. But, I can live without that for the price and what I got. Thank you to Zachary and the rest of the staff who were kind and knowledgeable enough to guide me in a direction that I was most happy with.

I love being walking distance from everything. This building is right in the heart of downtown and where all the action is. I came here to be a part of the city, meet people, have a short commute, be entertained, and I got it all and then some. Long Beach is becoming the go-to destination and you can already see it.

Management/leasing office staff here is great. They have great manners and really try to help out the residents here. I've been living here for 2 years and it was great, until the last 4-5 months. The gym, F45 has opened below us and it has been nothing but loud music and loud bangs of weights that resonates throughout the building. Sometimes it is loud enough to hear from the streets. That place was not made for a gym. The noise is extremely bothersome, especially when you have to work from home. We have tried everything but no resolution have been made to control this. I've called F45 about it and nothing. I've complained to city and they said for us to call the police. We called the police, and nothing. Reported to the management team multiple times, and they said there's nothing they can do. If you want to lease here, beware of the noises. I have cried about this because of how frustrating this is. I thought this place was IT, the place I can call home, but im at a dead end. Every time there's a class that deals with weights, I have to sit on my balcony for 2 hours or leave the apartment. Until the landlord is able to make F45 soundproof, find somewhere else to live. It's really not worth it.

Finally, a place I can actually call home! The management at so many other apartments that I've lived at was so terrible that I had never really felt at home and would often quickly move out. Fortunately, here I actually feel like I have a great relationship with management and like they are competent and caring enough (Especially the community manager, Zachary) to handle my needs and the needs of the complex. It's just an outright comforting place to be and I know I will be here--in my beautiful loft--a long time because of it.

My experience here has been top notch!! From Christopher’s (management) warm, welcoming, and informative personality to the beautiful unit itself, I have enjoyed every little thing about it here. What really took my breathe away was the modern look and feel to these apartments. I love to cook, so having an updated and modern kitchen with modern appliances was a big deal to me and they did not disappoint here. The kitchen ended up being my favorite part of my unit and I can’t wait to get in there and start whipping things up.

The management team at Avana On Pine has been the best that I’ve had the pleasure of leasing with. They have been so accommodating and kind towards my needs that I can’t say enough good things. Shout out to Christopher who has been especially great and who has made my entire experience so amazing here. I highly recommend living here!!

I have lived here now for a couple of months and really enjoy my time here. The assistant community manager Christopher is amazing. He is very helpful all the time and made my moving in very easy. The units are also really updated, which is nice. And the gym that they have is really nice. Definitely recommend living here :)

I have enjoyed my time at Avana! I have met some amazing people and the location is unbeatable. The only downsides are thee street noise (which is to be expected) and the building is becoming old. However, what has really made my experience at Avana has been the management. I absolutely love Christopher, he has made every effort to clear up any issues I have had and just works so well to cultivate a lovely apartment community.

Overall my experience with Avana on Pine has be really good but not great so to speak. Had a rocky start with move-in day but once settled things became easy and exactly how I imagined it would be to live here. The building/community is great, and its a wonderful living experience with quiet neighbors

Coming from an older building that was incredibly loud, this is a much welcome change. Even with the party vibe in downtown LB, with the windows closed, I am sleeping like a baby and I'm an exceptionally light sleeper. We are so happy to be in a quiet and peaceful place.

Under the new management things have slowly but surely improved. Things are much more organized and the communication is exponentially better. The office and maintenance team are very helpful and kind. It may have taken a few swings of the bat, but I think Avana has finally found some winners!

Been living here about two weeks now. Location is amazing - right in the heart of downtown but not too crazy. Walking distance from several restaurants/bars and the beach! Everything about the move-in process was phenomenal; James (assistant manager) and Chris (leasing specialist) were nothing but responsive and helpful throughout. They were able to reserve the elevator for us which made unloading a breeze. They always greet us with a smile and we feel so welcome here! Residents are polite and maintenance staff has been quick to show up at our door to fix anything we need. Super excited to call this place home!

The pros of living at Avana: the staff is super nice and helpful! The units look really nice and updated. They pretty much have all the amenities that you need, such as a dishwasher, washer & dryer, microwave, and garbage disposal. I do wish the washer was a bit bigger, because it is super tiny, but at least it has one so that is very nice! I also feel quite safe here, because it is gated and you need a fob to get into the building and garage. I had once left a package in front of my door overnight and it did not get stolen! :) (but you could also ask the staff to put it into your unit with your permission). They also provide parcel pending, which means your package will be left in a secured box, so that is handy too! I can't tell you much yet about the building amenities that they offer, since they are closed due to covid. The cons: the windows and ceilings could definitely be improved. I can hear every single move my upstairs neighbor makes (I can even hear him/her open up a drawer), so that is quite annoying. Next, the windows are super thin, so you hear every single noise that is outside. You live right in the center of LB (which is a huge plus(!) because the area is really nice), so it can definitely get noisy outside. Sadly there is a pupper outside that likes to bark for two hours straight around 4/5am, and that makes it really hard to sleep through. If they had updated their windows and ceilings (and if I'm very greedy: a pool), Avana would be perfect!

June 2021 marks 5 years I have been a member of the Avana on Pine Community. This is an amazing property in the perfect location. The management team is first class. The support staff is outstanding. They are very responsive to tenants needs. My apartment offers me all of the comforts that I need in order to enjoy the right balance quality of life.
