All of the office staff is very rude and unprofessional. Whether they yell at you for complaining or just don’t answer the phone/call back. Maintenance does half the job and leaves, or does it in full the quickest way possible. The units are all so outdated and are definitely not worth the cost of rent. The laundry rooms are also very outdated with washer and dryers that don’t work half the time, and either don’t spin out, or burn your clothes, and again when complaining the office does absolutely nothing. Definitely skip this one!

My family and I have lived here for years. We have never found a more perfect place. The neighborhood is quiet, and the staff are all very courteous and professional.

My husband and I love our new apartment so far just moved in a week and half ago. We just love living so far. The leasing office staff are so welcoming I love . Krystal and Dustin coons

I cant say enough good things about this place. I have been here 3 years and don't have anything negative to say. The staff take pride in keeping everything up to date and cared for and it shows. lawns are always cared for, sidewalks and roads plowed in the winter, maintenance is on top of any issues that arise, and the office staff or very friendly and helpful.

Living at Avalon Woods is like a big family, everyone is so friendly and quick with all needs.

The assistant property manager Paige is super sweet & great to work with! My apartment was perfect & she assured me if I had any issues, she’d make sure things were taken care of! Looking forward to spending the next year or more here!

Lived in a tiny one bedroom that wasn’t worth the price. Whenever I talked to the assistant property manager she got a horrible attitude with me, and they tried to charge us almost $1,000 in move-out charges before they were disputed with corporate. Oh, and they worked into their lease that they may enter your apartment when they deem necessary without any notice. They entered my apartment about 5 times when I lived there, none of which were prompted. Best to avoid this place.

I've lived at this complex longer than most, almost 15 years total, and I wouldn't have stayed this long at any other apartment complex I've lived at. The office staff is always very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The grounds are as well kept as any I've ever seen. The maintenance staff is responsive and communicative, and always give a wave when you see them out and about. And it's clear the ownership actually cares about the quality of these buildings, as we've had a lot of renovation on roofs, doors, balconies and other structures, not to mention the addition of a fenced dog park and a playground within the last few years. They offer a lot of variety in floorplans as well, with everything from a tiny bachelor pad up to a two-bed/two-bath with garage and shed space. I would recommend Avalon Woods to anyone looking for an Elkhart apartment for any amount of time.

I have been in this community on and off for 5 years, I keep coming back because I’ve never had such a pleasurable renting experience. The ladies in the front office are so welcoming and friendly, which is what makes a community bright. Truly feels like a little family. It is SAFE. I feel extremely safe. The price. The location. The amenities. You cannot beat it !

My husband and I are moving to Elkhart on pretty special circumstances, and an Avalon Woods’ leasing agent was so accommodating to our rushed needs. We currently live approximately 4 hours away, and we were in town late in the business day frantically trying to find a place to live within 2 weeks. We were so thankful when Avalon Woods/West was able to give us a tour of TWO very nice units that day, we immediately applied for a home in Avalon West. We thought their rent prices were fair overall. Their pet fees were just a bit costly especially for others in the area, but the units were beautiful. There were pets accompanying their owners the office space as well as kids participating in a local library’s craft event. Lindsay, our leasing agent, was so warm and friendly! Their amenities are fantastic and apparently you are allowed to paint the walls! We are SO hoping our application is approved so we can make Avalon West home in Elkhart!

Nestled just a little north of downtown Elkhart sits a less than mediocre apartment complex. With single and double bedroom apartments and also townhouses, all fitted with appliances and fuse boxes from the 90's. They work so well sometimes the fuse boxes catch fire to dissipate heat, it's quite a show! Also the metal support beams for the upstairs balconies are beautifully rusted, not rustic but rusted. It's so nice to see how well it works even with one of the supports half eaten away :) Now it's not all that bad, they did lay New carpet recently and put new linoleum in the bathroom, even though the craftsmanship is shoddy at best; caulk wasn't sealed, water getting under the lino, it's not very good work. They do have a free workout room,tanning bed and pool which are all actually pretty nice. The club house is also very appealing. The staff is nice and friendly for the most part. Now a few other things, pets are allowed here though peoples don't always pick up after them. So take that as you will. There are cracks on the sidewalks and cement slabs that have shifted from rainfall so that's kind of...yeah. Rent is a decent price but you definitely get less than what you pay for. Also the parking is terrible. They don't keep track of who owns a port until someone complains about people stealing their spot for a week, then there are hardly enough parking spots to hold cars that don't have a port that they let anyone park there for however long they want (there has been a white box truck taking up 2 spots for the last couple months that hasn't even moved once) The last issue I'll talk about here is the laundry room and maintenance man. The washer and dryers are old and hardley work. Every time someone complains about the dryer not working (which happens at least once a week) the maintenance guys just replace the heating element and call it good, which it is very far from, so it wastes my money and their time. Which brings me to my closing issue, the maintenance guys. Some of them are good and know what they are doing but then you have some that have no idea what they are doing, they think everyone is an idiot and they know better than you. But like I said not all of them are like this and I do understand that they try to get things done as fast as possible and as cheaply as possible but there is just no excuse for some of the shoddiness that comes out as a final product. It's alright if you don't expect much and don't plan on staying too long...
