The apartment building is extremely old, and there are large cracks seen on the walls in both the hallways and the apartment itself. Since it is so old, the floors creak, the windows are old (bad for heating/cooling efficiency), and there are more than a few "quirks" in layouts. The kitchens are often tiny with very little counter space or storage, so if you like to cook you have to get creative with space usage. The oldness of the building also contributes to it being noisy close to 24/7. When there is live music at the University Club across the street, you'll hear it. When a loud car goes past on University, you'll hear it. You'll also hear a decent amount of noise from your neighbors and the hallway due to thin walls. There are also a decent amount of dogs living in the building (despite listing "no pets"), so expect to hear a good amount of barking throughout the day and night if you live in a nearby unit. As far as maintenance, it is generally okay, but it does take them sometimes multiple days to fix things when you call about them. The repair men will often leave a mess behind that you'll have to clean up. Currently, only 2/4 washers work in the laundry room, and none of the dryers seem to ever actually dry your clothes in one cycle despite being $2.25/ cycle. They have replaced the dryers once while I lived here, and they increased the price per cycle afterward even though they still did not work well at all. The parking situation can also be tricky sometimes as parking passes really aren't enforced. On some weekends, there are little to no spots left for residents at night if there are a lot of "guests".

I wouldn't recommend renting from them. I took over a sublease at the beginning of February, which was offered by them. I was never told the prior tenant had already renewed the lease for the upcoming period in August. All I knew was prior tenant wasn't there, and I was taking over the unit. I was given a letter at the end of February stating if I wanted to renew to let them know, which I did. Then in May, I was given a notice that I had to leave in August. At that point, after questioning them, they FINALLY informed me of the prior tenant renewing back in October. I could never get a straight answer on why I wasn't informed of this, so I could make a proper decision when I took over the lease back in February. Just excuses when it came to the email about letting them know about renewing. Saying it was a bulk email to all properties, and there was no way to separate them. Any comments I make about how I should've been made aware of the lease situation at signing is all side-tracked, and they refuse to admit fault in the situation.
