An easy 20-minute drive via Interstate 26 takes residents into downtown Charleston and its multitude of restaurants and bars. Rent is high. There is no parking and when you try to park somewhere else they vandalize your car. The staff is rude and very unhelpful. Mold, mildew, roaches, trash piles up. Place is unkept most of the time. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.
I highly recommend! The quality apartments, cleanliness, professional staff and top notch customer service makes Atlantic palms the perfect choice for anyone looking for a place to live!
I lived here for a couple years, floorplans are spacious, staff is great and caring. They throw a great party each month too!
I leased one of these apartments for a year until I was ordered to go somewhere else in the continental US. The maintenance crew was great at fixing all of our requests within 2 days or less and the staff at the office were understanding of situations and were also very helpful. The only thing I really dislike is the fact that I was only in my apartment for about 1/2 of the month of March at the end of my lease and I was charged the full amount of rent for the entire month of March even though I was only there until the 16th. Here is the kicker though. When I went to look at my bill they had taken 1/2 the rent out when I paid on the 1st but than the second half after I moved out on the 16th. This logical I do not understand. But other than that little issue this place served me and my family well for the year we stayed there.
We lived here for about 1.5 years. During that time we had a great experience with friendly neighbors, parties the office would host, and maintenance was always timely. The maintenance team repaired our A/C when that went out, replaced our refrigerator before the food went bad, and took care of many other minor issues. The trail around the property was great for walking our black lab. That was his favorite part of the day. There were almost always fresh baked cookies in the office, yum! My only complaint is that the parking was awful. We had a two bedroom and had two cars, but we only got 1 parking space. I would save it for my husband because he worked such long and awkward hours at times. I would end up have to park on the curb if I could find a space or across the complex when I could not find one. Definitely not ideal when bringing in groceries I picked up after work. I believe they were working on a way to expand parking when we moved, so hopefully that was done. Otherwise we had a wonderful experience living here.

Absolutely horrible experience at Atlantic Palms. After moving in though, we were, on countless occasions, promised things that were never delivered, had terrible and unprofessional encounters with staff, and didn't even bother submitting maintenance requests after a while, because it took the lazy and untrained staff weeks, if not months, to get anything done. We waited two months for a ceiling leak to be properly fixed. We waited another two months for a garage door keypad to be fixed. It took more than a month to get a garage door opener from them, and with the "broken" keypad that the incompetent staff couldn't "fix," I ended up buying my own. Parking is a nightmare, and don't expect anything to be done. We were promised parking solutions for a year. All the staff did was make it harder and more inconvenient for residents. They implemented several "solutions" without bothering to monitor any of them, so residents are running scared putting stickers and placards in their cars and parking in certain numbered spots and never inviting guests over. We had several occasions where vehicles were parked such that I couldn't move my car at all, and when I called to have it towed, I was rudely informed that per management, no cars were to be towed from site. If you have pets, they steal your money ($500 pet fee - non-refundable, and $30/mo pet rent, and they still charged us $500 to replace carpet). The entire time we lived there, they said they would be making improvements to the dog parks. They couldn't even keep the clean-up bags stocked. When it comes time for renewal, expect minimum $100/mo rent hikes, with the average being closer to $150-$200/mo. Leasing office staff turnover is high, so I apologize to those employees that are new and are coming into this mess (which is most of the front office staff). Unfortunately, since the same manager is still there, don't expect anything to get better. She is incompetent and completely ignorant of what happens in the complex, and won't do anything to fix it, except for her hollow promises to make the situation go away. Mandatory trash pick-up has more rules than you can keep track of, which is basically just an excuse for them to be immature and lean your trash can against your door so it falls through the door at you in the morning when you open it, with a little nasty-gram attached about how you're doing trash wrong. **Rent is higher than advertised, it includes other charges they don't tell you about until later*
My fiance and I moved here from New Jersey and after moving 4 times in 2 years we finally found an apartment were we feel safe. We just resigned our lease after a year of being here. Finally we don't have to pack up again. The ladies at the leasing office make us feel like family and are always there whenever we have a question. We have bbqs by the pool and take our pup to the dog park. I even started taking her on their mile long trail that goes around the entire apartment complex. The club house is awesome and is open all the time! We always go there to play pool. Atlantic Palms is definitely home sweet home!
