Recommended!

Ashton was a wonderful place to live, so much so that I feel it warrants a review. After a year there, we have moved, but only because the 2 bedroom we wanted wasn't available. The community is clean, quiet, very well maintained, and free of riffraff. South Hill is a great area. A big selling point for me was having my own garage and trash and recycling buckets. It eliminates the mess of overflowing dumpsters, scattered garbage, and stink. The garage was really helpful to have, even when there wasn't snow or ice. All the staff I encountered at Ashton were awesome. Setarah is an incredible community manager. She is super knowledgeable, always attentive, on the ball, quick to respond, and very helpful; as is maintenance. Ashton was (still is) out of my budget, and some of the fees seem excessive. Be that as it may, I still think I made the best choice as far as apartments go in Spokane. We will miss it.

Great place!

My wife and I have lived at the Ashton for just over one year. We spent half of it in a 1 bed 1 bath and then moved to a 2 bed 2 bath when one became available. Both apartments have been great. The appliances are nice, the apartments are always clean upon move in and the maintenance team does a great job keeping everything in tip-top shape. We would recommend this apartment community to anyone looking for a great place to rent in Spokane.

Love our home!

I did not know what to expect when moving to the Ashton Apartments, but both Kristi and Paige made the move-in process a breeze. The complex has great amenities including garages, a fitness center, barbecue/picnic gazebo, and many more! I have had a great experience living here and I am glad to have found a such a gem on the South Hill.

Finishing Up Our Third Year, Looking Forward To A Few More

Moving to Spokane from Vancouver in October 2016, I found out about Ashton Apartments and signed our lease, sight unseen after chatting with a leasing agent over the phone. It was a wonderful decision. Ashton Apartments has been one of the nicer complexes my husband and I have lived in in the 11 years we have been renters. The staff has been wonderful and attentive, they have taken any concerns we've had and addressed them quickly. In the almost 3 years we have lived here, some frustrations have, of course, arisen but those instances are almost obsolete due to the level of service we have been provided. The grounds are clean, the apartments are spacious, the no-smoking complex policy has been a fantastic addition, and there is plenty of parking, either in the lots or on the street. It abuts a safe neighborhood and is minutes from shopping, the county library, and many parks. The cross street Freya is a busy road and repeated road construction may put a damper on your living experience, but it is manageable for the atmosphere you get at Ashton. Winters can be a bit rough, any apartment or house on South Hill will make commuting to work difficult when 10 inches of snow fall overnight, but the office is quick to put out salt for walkways and stairs, and they de-icer and and a snow plow into the parking lots as quickly as possible. Sadly, cost of living increases in Spokane have hit the South Hill hard and low vacancy rates always push a straining housing system even further. Our first year of signing, our rent increased $15; our second, $30. There is concern in the future for where our rent will be pushing as it is a bit of a costlier apartment complex to live in due to location, quality, service, and environment; but, if it is in our cards, my husband and I hope to be able to continue living here for the next few years. It has been a wonderful experience and it has always felt like coming home, even after a big move away from family and friends.

Lovely!

Ashton Apartments is a beautiful area to call home on the upper south hill! We recently moved in and have loved it thus far! It's quiet and well maintained. The staff is super friendly as well, and always willing to help as soon as they are capable. The apartments themselves are very homey and well kept. These apartments are also located in such a great spot with lots of extracurricular activities easily accessible, whether it be walking, biking or a quick drive.

2 years in the community, a nice little slice of the south hill.

My wife and I have been residents at Ashton for the last 2 years. We spent over a year in our previous apartment on the grounds, but recently moved into a new floor plan to spice things up. Now, in the interest of transparency and relating realistic expectations of life here, our 2 years has not been 100% problem free. But then again, neither is home ownership, or renting in any other form. We've seen a few faces change over the last year and change. It's apartment living, so there is occasional road noise, subtle to less than background noise from neighbors during sporting events, etc. We had a bit of a plumping issue that was exacerbated by a previous maintenance worker that did cause us quite the headache, but the management was attentive and did what they could to help us out. The new maintenance supervisor however, reached out to us after he took over to ensure all of our issues were solved. The management is willing to help with what they can, though as with any living situation, sometimes you just need to be an adult and sort out little things yourself. They do a good job of keeping the grounds clean, reminding everyone the basics of adulting (don't be a jerk and take responsibility for your animals and what not.) Pretty likely that we'll set up a 3rd lease at some point. Kristy, Paige, Steve, and whom I shall refer as El Jefe, the new maintenance director, are fantastic folk thus far. We love em' and my dog loves em', and she's a picky pupper.

Peaceful

This is a peaceful and private place to live. People mind their own business, no loud parties and no police activity. Really enjoy this place. Office staff is nice, and maintenance is quick. If you’re looking for a loud place with things for kids, don’t come here! Keep your noise away

Avoid this property

Apartments themselves are nice enough, but the rent is very high for the area and square footage, but the biggest problem is the insane management. Management changed hands a little over a year ago, and its been nonstop problems ever since. Rules are changed arbitrarily and in violation of the renters agreement, dogs wander around off leash, and the apartment manager leaves little passive-aggressive notes on everyone's door at frequent intervals. I would recommend you avoid Ashton apartments, there are several other comparable apartment properties in the area that are a better value, and are much less stress-free

Very nice apartment in a quiet community

The apartments are very nice, clean and updated. Garage included. Very good value. Really love the large deck. Office staff very friendly. Outdoor areas always clean. Security patrol in evening.
