West Ashley sits within the city of Charleston and is west of the Ashley River, hence its name, and is the birthplace of Hootie & the Blowfish’s frontman, Darius Rucker. Lined with mossy oaks, the Ashley and Stono Rivers border West Ashley, creating the breathtaking scenery for which Charleston is known. West Ashley residents enjoy close proximity to the area's only indoor mall, the Citadel Mall, and a large number of big-box stores.

Situated seven miles due west of Downtown Charleston, residents can plan on a 15- to 30-minute drive, depending on traffic, to take in all downtown has to offer. Nearby Interstate 526, which feeds directly into Charleston’s Interstate Highway 26, gives residents a fast and easy route in and out of area. Worst apartment complex I ever lived

I’ve been a resident a month and 4days today and since the day I moved in it’s been issues! I currently have 11 maintenance issues that needs to be handled and not one person came to inspect this unit! They moved me into a unit that wasn’t clean and had bad pest problems, the sink in both bathroom has low water pressure and makes this loud noises when using the hot water, the kitchen sinks is leaking the shower and master bathroom is leaking water from the side. Calling fan won’t cut off the refrigerator is old and falling apart the light in there is hanging on by a code the microwave is missing piece and had roaches in the the stove barely gets hot and had roaches in the oven, the toilet is old and rocks/move when you sit on it. The didn’t even polish the wood floor. Patio door not is a hug Safety issue. The front door I have to use my whole body strength to open it and close it. This place is horrible and I only moved here because it was much cheaper than what I had. But I guess this what you get when you trying to save money and not struggle! I Wouldn’t recommend 0/10

Do not wast your time

Save your time and money. This place looks pretty much the same as it does in pictures, that’s not the issue. The issue is we’ve only lived here for 3 months and the cops have already been in apartments next to us twice, the fire department has been here a total of 5 times. We have had multiple solicitors waiting at our door, debt collectors from previous tenants coming weekly, and to top that all off they let kids smoke weed in the laundry room at all hours of the day. The whole place reeks of weed and there is tobacco all over the laundry room from kids rolling blunts. It’s ridiculous. Sadly we signed a 12 month lease (moved from out of state) because shorter leases were way more expensive. I can not wait to move out.

I am sending this review because I do love where I live have been here 2 years and just renewed my lease Ashley Oaks is a wonderful place to live and maintenance is available 24 hours along with security and office staff is very friendly and will work with you. Mrs. Santiago

satifying

what I like about my building is the quietness and privacy. I can walk out of my apartment and the marsh from the river and 526 is so close it makes you feel like your in the country where I am from Wadmalaw Isl. I appreciate the friendly neighbors I live on the second floor. taking packages up the step is really hard but my neighbors jump right in to help me take my bags up the steps. When I injured my knee I was on crutches three months they were a blessing even my landlord was there to help checking on me everyday. We have pets also and they are so friendly you never see any pet waste anywhere. your only minutes away from restaurants and malls That's why I love my apartment building

my apartment is to small its a two bedroom and not enough space

the apartment unites are fifteen plus years old and in need of renovation. I am allergic to dust mites, molds, and dogs. I addressed that to the landlord and no results. I moved to separation with my son and daughter, please consider my application. Thank you

Ashley Oaks

Ashley Oaks is a nice neighborhood, it's just not what wife and I were expecting when we signed the lease. The Maintenance people are kinda sketchy and the pest control people rarely come around. When they do, the pesticides don't seem to work. All in all, I wouldn't recommend anyone to apply for an apartment here.

Not what I thought

This isn't a bad place, but it's not what I thought it would be. For the price, it's not quite what it should have been. It's not a very good place, but it is close to places of service. I'm not disappointed with my time hre, but, if I were to come back to charleston, i would probably look somewhere else.

Cheap, friendly, clean

They fix work orders within 48 hours, which is a nice change from my last place. The apartment is clean and spacious for the price. There are always kids playing outside, it's quiet and safe. A great location, close to 526 and 26, right around the corner from the mall, the movies, and tons of restaurants! Closets could be a little bit bigger, but the kitchen/dining room area is open. Lots of natural lighting.

Ashley Oaks

This complex is in a very convenient area. Very close to the Citadel Mall and many restaurants. The complex has two pools that are kept clean. Our apartment is slightly outdated on cosmetic things and it's layout but when we moved in we had all new appliances. The staff had been very helpful. Perfect for people in their early 20's like my roommate and I. Also it's only about 20 mins to Folly Beach!

I moved into Ashley Oaks Apartments 3 years ago. Throughout the management team and maintance crew have been nothing but awesome! Its quaint, affordable, and the location is close to anywhere you want to go. I definitely would recommend Ashley Oaks Apartments.
