Property Ratings at Ashbrooke
When we first walked into the apartment on move in day we got met with a surprise- we were supposed to have all carpet but they had installed hardwood(AMAZING!). We figured out fast the heat wasn’t working and maintenance came in an hour and fixed it. Amazing view of the lake and it’s perfect space for me and my boyfriend. Our apartment is fully renovated so it really is very nice for our first apartment for a great price and for not having credit and being a server (hard to prove income) they made the application process so smooth and easy for us! Perfect first apartment. Only thing to look out for is windows don’t have great insulation, walls are pretty thin, and you can tell that not everything is installed with great care but we haven’t had a problem with it. Everyone that’s came over said it’s very nice! Love our barn door too
I really appreciate the kindness and promptness of management and maintenance.
Apartment not cleaned by previous tenant before moving in, poorly done upgrades, exhaust fan does not work, food molds quickly vs other places, loud neighbors
Very friendly staff, they will work with thoroughly with you through the whole move in process and are great at returning any questions or answers you might need.
I have lived in Ashbrooke with 2 of my college buddies for about a year now and, We love it. For this being are first apt. we had no idea what we where doing. So we applied at Ashbrooke and within days we where moving all are stuff in. I mean Gabby basically did are paper work for us she was super helpful. Ashbrooke is not only a great place to live but a great place to be able to call “home”.
This place is loud, babies, stomping kids, and animals in every apartment around me.
I dont wish to be contacted by management because they obviously dont take their work seriously. I would never recommend this apartment complex and would cancel my lease if possible. Worst living experience I've ever had. Neighbors are noisy, maintenance is poor, management is not much better, and parking is a mess. This place needs a complete overhaul to somewhat resemble an efficient property management.
Office personelle is helpful and friendly. Quiet at night, safe.
Great place for familoes and pets.
Good service had no issues
Terrible. Will not recommend to anybody. They arent clean and the staff isnt very friendly. Apartments arent soundproof so my family cant sleep at night because of people above us and outside.
My thoughts on Ashbrooke Apartments in Ankeny? Well everything seemed fine at first. Minus the windows that leaked air and allowed water and ice to come inside. When brought to their attention we were told we "should put plastic over it". Then there were the people. Ohhhh the people that live in apartments. It's either a hit or a miss, and let me tell you...it was a big miss. We moved out 2 months before our lease was up because we decided we didn't want to live there anymore. We kept paying our rent and we were slowly moving our personal belongings out. Well my husband had just started a new job, so we were away from the apartment for a little over a month. We came back to get the rest of our things & upon arrival noticed the apartment was infested with fleas. How did this happen? Who knows. But they blamed it on me and my animals, but if it came from my animals...wouldn't they have fleas? Wouldn't my new house have fleas? Not according to Ashbrooke Apartments! they refused to check any other apartments & insisted that we were the cause of it. Well there went all of my belongings AND they charged us for it!! Ok. Whatever. I wanted to be done with them, so I just left it be. Well That was 2 months ago. I just received a call from COLLECTIONS because I had an outstanding bill. I was confused and quite upset because if I had received a bill from them I would have paid it. I asked the nice collections lady what address they had on file. Anyone live on South 51st Street in Des Moines?? You probably got my bill. Even though I specifically wrote down my current address because we knew where we were going months in advance. That's not even in the same city as where I live! So how could they screw up this badly??
Abby from the front office is horrible. Lease ended August 2nd, so we would obviously be out August 2nd. However according to her, we should’ve recieved a letter stating if that we were not renewing our lease, we had to notify them 30 days prior. We never recieved a letter, no call, no email, nothing. I have never dealt with an apartment complex where I had to notify them that I would be out at the end of the lease.. I have already started telling everyone I know to never live at ashbrooke or rent from BH Management.
Ashbrooke Apartments provides a clean place to live with pleasant and friendly staff who are always looking to help out. Maintenance is proactive with twice-yearly inspections and regular treatments for pests. The apartments are priced high, but not outrageously so for the Ankeny area, and the complex is very welcoming of pets. The sidewalks are always cleaned in a timely manner in the winter, and the grass is neatly mowed and manicured. The recreational facilities (a small pool and a small fitness area) are well-maintained and open to residents. You could definitely do worse than choosing Ashbrooke for your Ankeny living needs, but you might be hard-pressed to do better.
I'm new at Ashbrooke Apartments. So far I really love it!! My apartment has central air conditioning and a balcony. Which I didn't have at my previous apartment. I like that their laundry room has new washers and dryers. They allow pets and have dog waste bags stations all around the property. The staff is very nice and professional. But also like good friends. I would highly recommend these apartments!!!
