Southeast Boise winds its way along the eastern banks of the Boise River, a patchwork quilt of green and brown stitched by tidy rows of suburban homes. As the largest neighborhood in the city, this location offers something for everyone. Historic homes surrounding the university attract young, artistic types, while families flock to modern subdivisions. Designed with families in mind, most homes in these subdivisions have schools within walking distance.
Wedged between downtown Boise and some of Idaho's most prominent employers, residents of this area don't waste hours commuting. Drive less than four miles northwest and reach the city center in about ten minutes.
Easy access to mountains and forests draws every kind of outdoor enthusiast. Take effortless day hikes or grab your tent and seek refuge in the woods for an entire weekend. Fish, hunt or simply take photographs of the unspoiled wilderness.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Arboretum at Barber Station
I have loud upstairs neighbors. They have a dog and it barks and runs around all day and night. I have written to management several times and they are impotent in their response and expect me to move to another apartment. Management did not properly vet the upstairs "neighbors" as they didn't have a dog on their lease when they originally moved in. Poor construction for sound and poor management response in keeping with their lease promise to peace and quiet.
Writing a review, since I think I was misled by a lot of the positive reviews for this property. I've lived in 7 different apartments in 5 years and this is the only one where I've had significant issues with hearing noises from neighbors and hallways commotion. I understand that some noise is inevitable in apartment living. However, I could hear full conversations, sink disposals, and dogs playing/barking from other units. The biggest issue is the shaking from impact noises. My floors and furniture would literally shake each time my upstairs neighbor would walk from one part of their apartment to another. Not ideal for anyone working from home during the pandemic. If you can get a top floor unit, this place might be okay. Otherwise I've been very disappointed, since I had high hopes for this building. Seems like developers are willing to cut corners on proper noise insulation, while still charging tenants "luxury" rates.
This is a terrible apartment community. I have to move out early before contact ends. Reasons: 1. Poor management in mail package. I lost $900 package in mail room because no one in charge of mail room. Typically it is not locked, anyone can come and take package away. 2. Additional charge for low internet speed. They say internet speed is 100MB but I did test it is 30MB. I need to pay additional $50 per month still only get internet speed ~70MB. 3. None sense additional charge after move out. I paid more than $2500 to move out before contract end. Apartment manager told me that's it, that's all I need to pay. I hired professional cleaner to do apartment clean. After moving out, they charge me additional money for: pet's fee, carpet cleaning fee, internet fee(I moved out already!!). Stay away from this one. You will pay additional money unexpected.
I watched these apartments come to life and wanted to move in as soon as they were completed. I Love SE Boise by the river, green belt and the great view of the foot hills and the most important item on my list - maintenance free living with no home repairs. The office staff is simply the best they make you feel like your home and welcomed.
This place is beautiful and the ladies in the office are incredible. I've been to tour a few times (not quite ready to move just yet) and the staff is always kind and patient with me. Can't wait to make this my forever home!

This property is so nice!! It's new, modern, clean and comfortable. I moved here after being in a house for 22 years. It has been perfect. The location is the best with the green belt right next to the property and the Boise river steps away. Bown Crossing is within walking distance and the view of the foothills is amazing. The apartment is spacious and has lots of storage. There isn't noise and the pool, hot tub and workout areas are a great bonus!! Love it!!

A lot of my neighbors at the Arboretum not only know each other by name, they also have a genuine concern for each other. Great staff and awesome amenities. Not to mention Location Location Location. Don't look any further. This is home!

Thank you for your positive feed back! We love our location and our residents :) Let us know if you have any questions in the future. We are always here to help!
We moved to Boise to live near our grandchildren and decided to rent an apartment until we could find a house we liked. We have always lived in a house in the country and assumed that this would be a temporary stop on our way to another house. Little did we know that we would fall in love with the lifestyle at The Arboretum! Why? • We live right on the Boise River and can go out the front door to bike or walk on the Greenbelt, or catch a fish in the river! • Every day we sit on our patio overlooking the river and enjoy the wildlife. From our patio we can watch deer, beavers and birds. • Maintenance free living! We don’t spend our weekends doing home repairs anymore. We swim in the pool and hike the foothills instead. • Last but not least, the staff here at the Arboretum are THE BEST! They have developed a lifestyle for all of us here that is truly lovely. This isn’t just a place to live; the Arboretum feels like a community.
