Indian River is a charming neighborhood in Chesapeake, which became an independent city in 1963. It incorporated various community crossroads into a single city, but the neighborhoods retained their original community names, such as Indian River. The Elizabeth River runs along the north side of the neighborhood, with a tributary running down through the middle. Because of this, oysters and watermen were a big part of its history. Those are gone now, as the neighborhood is mostly residential, but the community continues to work together through the group The Friends of Indian River, actively involved in the community, planting trees, and keeping the roads waterways clean. There are a few small businesses in town, and residents sit equally between Chesapeake and Norfolk, where they’ll find job opportunities as well as dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreational opportunities.

The manager is wonderful! Matt, the maintenance guy is a hard worker. The price is very affordable. However, those custom oak cabinets and sink fixtures are due for an upgrade.

We routinely upgrade units when the need comes up. If they are showing some age, they may need upgrading... please let the office know and we can look into their condition. We look forward to continuing to serve our community!
Arbor Glen is the perfect place to start a new life. The paperwork and moving in process was very easy, and quick. The neighborhood is kept up very well, and the employees are very nice to work with. They have all you need if you are just moving away from your parents house, if your military, or if you already have a family. They have a wonderful playground and grilling area that me, and my 4 daughters enjoy on those days that we want to feel like we are on a vacation. It is convenient to anywhere you need to go.
I love the apartment!! It is going to be a great first apartment for me. This is my first home that I will be staying in and I think I made a great choice with picking this apartment.
Abor Glen apartment is a very nice place to live Rooms are nice size for a single family. It comes with a washer and a dryer. Very convenient,also a dishwasher. It has a bar spit to separate the kitchen from the dinner room.Secured windows all around,that only open enough for you to let fresh air in .A play ground for little kids,and a grilling area for you to grill .Very nice environment.
