Apella on Newport

Living here sucks. Don't expect to get any sleep because people will be blasting music till 4:30 in the morning on a Thursday, if you go to management to complain they won't do anything about it. Hallways are disgusting with stains all over the floors and walls. Expect the hallways to smell like trash because people don't know how to use a trash shoot they just throw it on the ground. Don't live here it's been a waste of money.

If I had to give this place a zero star I would. Originally I thought this place would be a great place to live but I was wrong. This will not be the only review I will be posting on this apartments page, I could write an essay on it. But let’s start with the most recent occurrence. The past 5 days (since Tuesday) the other student residences have stayed out past midnight blasting their music, screaming, yelling, drinking, trying to jump off the balconies into the pool, leaving the community areas a DISGUSTING MESS, and the management has done nothing about it. We have called the noise complaint hotline many times this week and they do nothing about it. The front desk overnight people don’t do anything and don’t care. During the day people invite their friends who live on campus over and trash the place, and I can’t even go to the pool to enjoy myself because it’s packed fully. It’s very disrespectful that the owners don’t care how their residents are treated. The last management at least cared about their residents and the first time it happened they addressed it, this one doesn’t. I am paying overpriced to live in a dirty, unorganized, disrespectful and unprofessional apartment building. I wish I could get a refund because I have been contemplating moving out because of this week and it’s no way to live, especially having classes the next day and this happening during the week, not just the weekend. Also no one picks up after themselves, and i will be showing pictures of proof. Do not make your kids live here it’s not worth it. Reminder this is one occurrence but it happens all the time.

My experience at Apella has been great so far! Maintenance is always fast and the distance to campus is within walking distance.

the Apella is a great safe place for students to live. workers are very friendly and understanding. apartments are spacious and modern. the electric car parking is a bonus

My experience at Apella has been very positive for the most part thus far. The location is amazing and the units themselves are gorgeous!! Having an already almost furnished place made move in much easier as well!

elevator often doesn’t work, pool is always dirty and management is very unfriendly. The floor and elevators are always dirty. The university is a 10-15 min walked and it’s advertised as a 7 min walk, There’s no shuttle!

No shuttle, elevator and trash room far from outside apartments, elevator phone system not working, administrative sometimes are rude, wifi doesn’t work and spectrum doesn’t help, dirty floors and coffee machine can only be used from 9-1pm

I have had way too many problems that needed maintenance. For the price I pay there shouldn’t have been this many issues. Broken washer, dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, locks,and there were bugs when I moved in. The need for phones to get to my floor is ridiculous. College kids who go out late live here and if your phone dies then you can not get back in .

It’s been good so far. Maintenance is very on top of things and everyone who works here is very friendly. The pool is also awesome and very relaxing

Very nice place and area. Super walkable to University of Tampa and there are a lot of great food spots around. I also like the locks on the doors, very cool.

It has been pretty good so far. There are minor issues but overall my roommates, the amenities, and having my own space off of campus have been a great experience so far.

I love it here!!! Amenities are great, the views are awesome, and I love that I have my own bathroom! The rooms are big and I am so happy that I was able to pick what floor I lived on and what room I wanted.

The staff is incredibly helpful and very proactive when a problem occurs! This has by far been the best living community I’ve been in. The perks we get here are great. The clubhouse has a pool table which my friends and I put to good use quite often.

Very helpful at the front desk when moving in. Walked me through the entire process. Customer service made it an easy process when I had trouble with my first payments.

Move in was very easy, the staff were very helpful in showing me around the building. I love the amenities here, the pool deck is incredible.

Positive: The room are very spacious with comfortable furniture and nice appliances. The amenities are nice! The property is well taken care of by the maintenance staff. The maintenance staff are quick to fix things and are friendly! Negative: The front desk staff isn’t very friendly or helpful with questions or problems. The air flow in the rooms are very poor. The gym has horrible lighting, and the machines aren’t the best.

Nice apartment! It has everything me and my roommates need. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious places to fit all my stuff. The view on the 8th floor is nice too.

My roommates and I love Apella! The amenities are great. Close to campus. However, the management can be kind of difficult to work with and aren’t super flexible when need be.

Choosing the Apella was the best idea my roommates and I could’ve had. We love our rooms and having our own bathroom is a bonus and saves us from war. We love the pool, the maintenance staff are always there if you need them and always are there to greet us with a smile. I feel mislead. The facilities aren't up to par, the ceiling is unfinished, parts of the bathroom are already damaged, the dishwasher was broken on the first day, the rooms are not the same size, the location is less than ideal, the gym is minuscule. I wish I hadn't been so quick to sign a lease on this apartment. I should have lived somewhere else.

It’s a great apartment, but I wish rent and parking decal were cheaper. I signed up early to secure a spot, and a few months later, prices of rent was lowered so it would be more enticing for people to live here. It was upsetting because it’s like resident are being punished for signing the lease early. And we couldn’t lower the rent to the new price because we already signed the lease.

Overall, pretty nice! Brand new so it can’t not be nice. However, there are a few things that my roommates and I are noticing. The walls scuff very easily. A couple scuffs were on the walls in my bedroom when I arrived. It seems like the paint is just a primer or something. It’s rough and not smooth to the touch. Also, the water pressure is weak. There are settings on the shower head and the only decent water pressure is the jet setting but then the diameter of the water cluster coming out is very small. The other settings are not powerful enough to shoot straight out but almost have a tiny arch and then fall straight down. Our door lock had to be fixed already but other than a few things, everything is nice!
