Oak Creek is a suburban lakefront community just twenty minutes south of Downtown Milwaukee. With its close proximity to the larger city, low crime rate, and numerous high-performing public schools, Oak Creek serves as a highly popular home base for many Milwaukee commuters.
While mostly a residential community, there are a few large shopping centers positioned along Howell Avenue. The lakefront offers endless opportunities for boating and fishing, and the numerous public parks (Root River Parkway and Grant Park in particular) and golf courses give you lots of excuses to get outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. General Mitchell International Airport sits right on the north side of town, making it the terrific location for frequent travelers as well as daily commuters.

Property Ratings at Apartment Homes of Wildwood Preserve in be...
Saving for a house. Good in between apartment for a family who’s starting out or looking to save money. Management ok.
Don't know about other reviewers but we loved our apartment. Electric bill was next to nothing and rent was super cheap. Bonus, Never had a single door that fell off in our 4 years.
isrespectful. Maintenance does not get done. Yard work is not completed. Lived there for 2 years- when I signed the lease I was told the grass was being redone because of plumbing that needed to be done in the unit. Well I left and it was still not done. The parking monitor would yell even if you were parked for 2 minutes carrying on a toddler and groceries. Moved out and they mailed the deposit to the wrong address and Kristie has stated it was her error. That is pretty standard for them honestly. They are untrustworthy and unless you hold their hand stuff will not get done. Had water leaking in my bathroom from upstairs tenant - came and “fixed once” well they fixed the hole in my ceiling but not the leaks so months later it was happening again and that never got fixed. Love when toilet water drips on you when you are using the bathroom- that was highly enjoyable. Stay away- do not rent.
As a tenant I will tell you to look elsewhere when decided on a place to live. Their rules are unbelievable. It doesn't feel like home it feels like you are living on someone property. Management is extremely unfair and the maintenance people are a joke. First of all there is a creek dividing the apartments stage one and stage two. Stage one has a pool where every tenant on that side is allowed to use the pool and has a pool pass. People on the other side are handing a pass at random. I will tell you I live in stage two, we have lived there for 9 years and have yet to have access to the pool. We have seen so many people come and go its become a game to see how long the new people will stay. Every single one of our doors have fallen off the hinges we are sick of fixing it and calling maintenance so we just leave it. Our cupboards are falling off in the kitchen which my husband fixed because maintenance did such a horrible job. The Playground has objects sticking out of the ground and graffiti all over the place I don’t feel comfortable letting my kids play outside. They say no dogs but I have seen dogs going in and out of the apartments including pit bulls and puppies I have asked about this and they say the dogs are service dogs. We have mold growing on the ceiling of our bathroom because the fan is a piece of crap which maintenance has come to “fix” twice. The apartment itself is so poorly ventilated. Management doesn’t give a crap about anyone and will find any excuse to evict you. The only reason why we have been here this long is because we want the next place we move in to to be a house.
I understand that most complaints are motivated by negative experiences. Although I won’t deny that my feelings are impart due to the horrid actualities I faced during tenancy, I genuinely do not want my fellow neighbors to endure such agony. As a tenant for several years, I had never missed payment, received a noise complaint, failed my “annual” inspection, or responded negatively to the negligence of staff to complete repair requests. And as a tenant, I was robbed twice, had my car towed from the resident parking lot (with a $50 fine), dealt with unfixed plumbing (no hot water in the mornings or at night), lost several dollars in the cheap, poorly maintained laundry machines, and even sprained myself on their code violating “patio” doors. I was charged for nonexistent repairs. The paint they use for their wood is a latex wall paint, which is likely to need replacing often. Many have complained about the manager, Christy. I did enjoy her company when we first became acquainted but years of interaction have revealed her true lack of emotional control and inadequacies. I have witnessed her cry in the office several times, been hung up on during phone calls, and received eviction notices despite paying rent on time or early due to “oh, we forgot to mark it. We do have it!” The longevity of tenancy was the crucial error that I worked to correct quickly. The only saving grace of the Wildwood preserve is the proximity to the downtown development. Please reconsider living here. The extra cost of a much more organized community and apartment complex will be more lucrative both emotionally and financially. As a neighbor, consider elsewhere.
Basement (Storage) floods with moderate rain. Prevalent smell of mold. Way over priced for worth. Had a two bedroom there with one roomate. Both of us were clean and tidy and the place still had a dingy feel. Parking lot never cleared of snow during winter. Children vandalizing things to the point where Wildwood actually put up notices. Poor neighborhood, lock car doors! Wall unit air conditioning that only cools the living room. When the heat is in use there is an occasional loud bashing noise coming from somewhere. This may have been fixed as I talked to one of their three man crew (for 25 units) and I guess it was just a valve put in backwards or something. All in all it provided a roof over my head and I could keep all my stuff dry (that wasn't in the basement anyway). If you are looking for more than that, this is NOT the place for you. For nearly $1,000 a month this shouldn't be the place for anyone.
