Property Ratings at Alder
The pros: The maintenance staff and the janitors are the only pluses of this this apartment complex. They are quick to respond, are extremely nice, and keep the property very clean and well maintained. The cons: There is no guest parking outside of about five spots only available from 6pm to 8am. Guests are advised to park in front of the houses across the street which is always full. There floors between rooms are so thin you can hear everything your upstairs neighbor is doing. Sound also travels from the courtyard to the rooms even when your windows are closed. Other residents do not clean up after their pets and let them go to the restroom in the hallways and in the garage. While the inside of the apartments initially seemed very nice, over time we noticed issues such as uneven floors, uneven paint jobs, and loud and cheap appliances. Calls to the office/front desk go to an offsite location which can make it difficult to speak with those at the office on site. The charge way more for additional parking, garbage, and sewage than what is average in the area.

nice amenities and friendly staff, really like the layout of the studio and 1 bed overall, a little more storage space would make this place perfect.
Overall great first impression. Making phone calls to get thru to office has been frustrating. Dealing with a corporate environment vs what I am use to is not my first choice. Linnette is awesome.
Property is very well maintained-pool area is constantly cleaned. Trees & bushes very recently trimmed. How about having an ice cream social?

Amazing building with great amenities. Too bad you can’t enjoy living there since the floors are so thin between units. 3 years of no problems and then a new upstairs neighbor moves in, runs, jumps, throws stuff at the floor daily. Office is rude about complaints that I make, they dismiss them and say they can not do anything because it is not violation of lease. I have had to leave my apartment to do zoom calls in peace, because the other party can hear the noises through the call. I have rented hotel rooms at my personal cost as to get a full night of sleep. Do not deal with the office here. Maybe Greystar should not be managing this nice building

Just like any apartment complex, its only as good as its management team. Alder was a great place to live when I first signed my lease, but I feel it definitely changed once new management took over sometime last year. I loved the complex, but almost left until I saw that new people were hired back in May. I renewed in the hopes that things will change, but currently theyre still the same. This is strictly in the area of how the complex operates. This is excluding the usual pains that come with living in an apartment (noisy neighbors, pets, etc.).

Alder apartments are well maintained & attractive. My service request was completed promptly
Just moved in, no problems in the apartment. Everything was move in ready. The only thing that seems to need a good power wash is the parking structure, the amenities, hallways and trash room are cleaned everyday.
Everyone one is great. Super nice and responses are right away. Always willing to help.

Alder is a great community. Staff is very accommodating. Maintenance was quick to correct problem. Housekeeping always at work. Alder is close to shops, restaurants and freeway. A really nice community.

The apartment complex is beautiful. From the apartment, to the amenities. The people here, however, make it not so great... even from before the pandemic, the other renters are inconsiderate. It’s gotten worse since the pandemic. Noise at late hours (like, partying level noise), trash left outside in the hall... there’s also people that dump their cat litter all over the trash chute, making it disgusting to touch and smell. Did I mention there’s someone who lets their dog poop in the halls and doesn’t clean it up? The management team recently changed, and it isn’t the same as when I first moved in. They don’t respond to issues, just send warnings. This new staff feels incapable, which is probably why these problems have gotten worse. Better to have a bunch of renters during a pandemic than to ensure a quality level community. When I first moved in, I’d give it 5 stars. But now, it’s between a 1-2 for me.

The Alder management team has been professional and the building is well maintained. Alder is also in a convenient location, with Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, and more shops within a 10-15 minute walk away. I'd recommend living here.

At a glance, the property looks phenomenal. From amenities to floor plans and website quality, everything is beautiful. I will say I was hesitant to make the jump and apply because of the poor reviews that I saw online. After meeting with the leasing office and doing a tour I realized that some of the reviews were not accurate. I'm pleased to report our process moving in was smooth and our time in the property has been very pleasant.

Alder apartments is a hard competitor to beat in the Valley. Better pricing, square footage, and amenities than most other apartment buildings in the area. If your are looking for an apartment building that has everything you need and anywhere from 300-500 dollars less than almost any other building with the like features, Alder is the place to be.

This has got to be my worst experience living in any apartment building. Nobody pays this much money only for the alarms to be going off at ungodly hours in the middle of the night and not to mention during the day as well.

I highly recommend Alder apartment! Ive been a resident here for 3 years and its always clean, smell fresh, management is always there for you anytime you need them, guards are always watching the premises. Apartment are well equipped for your daily living accommodations. People are friendly. I cant think of anywhere else to live unless I go back home to the Philippines. Im so happy to be one of the Alder Residents. Excellent apartment

I relocated to LA from NY and from my first visit our experience with Alder was amazing. Our leasing agent Nicole provided excellent customer service, addressed all my concerns and truly made my move in a stress free process. The maintenance staff here is amazing. Whenever I've submitted a request they address it usually within 24-48 hours, and are always pleasant when they arrive. There building is clean, well lit and the amenities are superb. The various residents I've encountered have all been very friendly and helpful. As I am new to the area I've had to ask a few for recommendations or directions and they've always been welcoming, kind and courteous. I'm very happy we chose Alder to be our new home!

There is a loud rattling sound coming from my master closet. I have called the leasing office informing them of a maintenance request and subitted a request through the resident portal. I was never called back and my ticket online was moved to completed status. Its been over a week with no contact or any means of resolution.

We are extremely happy with our experience at Alder thus far. Nicole provided us with excellent customer service from the beginning of our apartment search straight through to our move in process. We relocated here from NYC and Nicole was there to advise and guide us every step of the way. She addressed all our concerns and answered all our questions in a timely manner. Her transparency and excellent customer service reassured me that if we chose Alder as our new home we wouldn't regret it.
