A former mayor once dubbed Bellingham the “City of Subdued Excitement,” an oddly perfect nickname for this delightful and unique community. Ninety minutes north of Seattle on Interstate 5, Bellingham is a charming small city positioned about twenty miles from the Canadian border. Western Washington University enrolls around 16,000 students, many of whom chose to live in the coastal Sehome area near campus.
Locals are quite enthusiastic about beer, books, and bicycles, and you’ll spot many businesses around town specializing in any and all of those Pacific Northwest staples. Bellingham hosts numerous community events throughout the year, covering everything from music to athletics; perhaps the most unique is the annual Ski to Sea race, a seven-leg relay in which teams compete to get from Mount Baker Ski Area to Bellingham Bay via skis, bikes, boats, and by foot.

Affinity in Bellingham is relaxing, beautiful, and has everything we need. The staff are professional, friendly, and wonderful to work with. There are so many ways to be involved and stay connected in this beautiful place... Something for everyone from the pool, library, incredible theater, wood shop, craft room, game room, billiards, large BBQ patio space and much more. Affinity is dog friendly with a wonderful dog park on site and beautiful open areas to walk them. The location is prime with nearby shopping, Starbucks, Costco, and quick access to I-5. The rooms are comfortable with everything you need to call home. We're in our late 50's and huge fans of Affinity. We highly recommend living here!
I absolutely love it here! I knew I was home the moment I walked in. The staff are phenomenal...every single one. It is very apparent that they each work very hard to ensure to achieve the excellence that this place provides. I really cannot say enough good things about this place. The new Community Director and her staff including maintenance and housekeeping work as a team to provide excellent service. We moved into Affinity at Bellingham when it first opened. We were new to Bellingham and looking for a place where we could meet people and enjoy our retirement. By far the best thing about living here is the community of people. Everyone is friendly and supportive. We have a number of new friends that we met while living here. There are many amenities to enjoy and lots of activities that keep us busy. The management is supportive of the residents. We definitely found the place that meets our needs.

Not having experienced apartment living my whole adult life I was initially apprehensive about moving to this type of living facility. My concerns were quickly alleviated when moving to Affinity Bellingham. The friendly, welcoming residents made me feel right at home within the first few weeks. My apartment is very comfortable and the amenities here have everything I could hope for. I’m glad I choose Affinity and I would do so again!

I moved to Affinity in May 2019. I love it here!!! It's more than i had expected. It's a wonderful community with an active Activities Committee with a lot of events planned - lunches, tours of Bellingham, card games, Mahjong and dominoes to mention a few. The staff here are extremely helpful and care about the residents. I've made a lot of new friends and am having a lot of fun!! And I love the idea of writing one check and everything is taken care of. any problems you have our maintenance staff come and fix it. Love it!!!
