Property Ratings at Abbey Walk Apartments
I could write pages and pages of complaints about Abbey Walk, but I'll just write an abbreviated list of the worst issues I endured while living here throughout 2023: - FOUR separate floods caused by old and faulty plumbing - Cockroaches consistently despite keeping our space clean and having maintenance spray - A spricket infestation in late spring-early summer - Moldy shower - Moldy carpets after the third flood - Incredibly loud neighbors and no soundproofing whatsoever - Dismissive staff who brushed off (and literally hid) our noise complaints, and seemed to not take our issues seriously There's so many more things I can include, but these are the highlights. Do not live there!!
The maintenance team is bad, the grounds are always trashed and I had to fight tooth and nail for a 1/4 of my deposits back. They claimed all this work needed to be done but never showed me proof. In fact they said I would need to go to court to get proof from them.
Neighbors are very unclean. Apartments are not clean, near hoarding conditions in most units, no one wants to clean any room in unit. Drugs run amuck around that complex. Multiple overdoses a week and cop visits often. Completely infested with roaches and bed begs and there's no way of getting rid of them. 0/10 would not recommend, I would give 0 stars if it was possible
I love the living room and The kitchen and it a amazing
I moved in here with my boyfriend whose been living here 3 years. He told me the first year he got bed bugs! Then there's the roach problem. You will see 2-3 roaches a week minimum. The place smells like weed and cigarettes. The police get called often. The laundry room is pretty gross with more roaches down there then anywhere else. The windows are not sound proof or weather proof what so ever. Everyone has a dog so you will hear barking. The location is nice though. The bathroom is fine I guess. The closets are a nice size. if you live on the 3rd floor your apartment will be hot in the summer no matter what. Nice people though. Overall this place was OK
Be very very careful when you move in, check and write down every little thing. I never used the storage space behind the mirror because it was so dirty when I moved in. I never even opened it! However, I was charged for a glass chip of the mirror in the “coner”. Also the carpets are decades years old and appear that way. I was charged $145 for carpet cleaning even though I noted many stains on the carpet when I moved in. Also, my car was broken into and I had several Christmas presents stolen.
Me and my girlfriend applied to this complex at the beginning of October we told them our credit wasn’t the greatest told them I had a minor charge on my background after almost 3 weeks later they finally call us and tell us we were denied saying that I hadn’t had my job long enough when I’ve had a job for 3 years I just recently changed employment and they tried to say I’ve been only working for 90 days after how honest we were they basicially guaranteed it.so after $30.00 app fee from me and my girlfriend $60.00 total and a hold I fee of $100 we got screwed out of 60.00 I wouldn’t recommend applying here
Yes, I passed on my appointment to see these units - Location in the must bazaar area of the block - Cady corner to so much going on - Once on the property, you are greeted by over-flowing dumpters - Folks walking around like it's o.k! I don't get it! Pass!
We've lived at Abbeywalk since October 2013 and we have loved it. Like any apartment you occasionally have maintenance issues, but the staff is quick to respond and fix the issues you have. You cannot choose your neighbors and at times some are loud, but all in all it is a family friendly community. We would not be moving out, but are closing on our first home purchase tomorrow morning. The only people I've heard complain about the property are people who are continuously late on rent. We would highly recommend someone to rent here.
This place is disgusting and infested with pests. The first day I moved in, I had to stay at a friend's because of carbon monoxide leak. My air conditioner was leaking into my carpet. The foundation is old. I reported my cricket problem twice and they claimed to have exterminated my apartment, but they did not. Everyone has a dog, therefore your building might be flea infested. I have bites all over my feet and ankles since I moved in 4 months ago. I have cricket droppings on all of my walls. The customer service is terrible!!! The property manager is very rude. Terrible treatment of tenants.
I got married on July 4th and we moved into our apartment on the 10th. I have lived in several apartments in the past, but never one that was SO clean!! I usually have to do a little cleaning here or there, but not this place!! As clean as I have ever seen!! Which was such a relief and less stressful on me moving from WVA. to DE. plus getting Married!! They keep the grounds plus the buildings spotless!!!
Abbey Walk Apartments took a chance by letting my husband and I move in with no prior renting history, or credit (because we were young newlyweds), and we will be forever grateful. Our one bedroom apartment with a washer and dryer was the perfect size for myself, my husband and our two cats (and rent was a very fair price... plus the electric bill rarely went over $60). We had a nice, big walk-in closet and a newly renovated bathroom. Throughout the two years renting at Abbey Walk, the office staff and maintenance staff were helpful, kind and promptly addressed any concerns we brought to their attention (i.e. when we broke our garbage disposal). Overall, I had a wonderful experience renting from Abbey Walk apartments for the past two years.... and if I ever decide to rent again in the future, Abbey Walk will be my first choice.
