Caro is a small community located along the Cass River roughly 45 miles northeast of Flint and 30 miles east of Saginaw in the Thumb Region of Michigan -- a peninsula that extends into Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay. In 1847, a logging camp was established that would eventually become Caro. With its tree-filled neighborhoods and green parks, Caro provides a gorgeous setting to call home.
Caro's downtown resembles a frontier town, complete with false-front buildings, square tops, and gabled roofs. The buildings contain a variety of boutiques, art galleries, cafes, and more. The Strand Theater, an art deco theater that opened in the 1920s, is a popular single-screen movie theater. Just south of Caro, the Indianfields Township Park is a popular gathering spot offering two playgrounds, ball fields, a horseshoe pit, four pavilions, picnic areas, fishing spots, and hiking trails.
