Juneau is Alaska’s state capitol with its downtown nestled between Mount Juneau, Mount Roberts, and Gastineau Channel. Downtown Juneau is a blend of new buildings, old storefronts, and quaint houses with 19th century architecture from the town’s early gold mining days. This city can only be reached by airplane or boat, making it an incredible secluded destination to get away from it all amidst breathtaking landscapes. Roberts Trailhead is a great hiking area, and Savikko Park, referred to as Sandy Beach, overlooks the glistening water and gorgeous mountain peaks.
