CYA Property Management Makes this unlivable

We recently moved out of one of the units at 805 F St. The complex itself is recently updated and in a quiet part of town. However the landlord (at the time of this writing) uses a company called CYA property management. To any who want to rent here...tread carefully! If you are still swayed by the nice unit (as we were) then here is my advice: 1. Religiously document the condition upon move-in and move-out. 2. Anticipate that the PM company will be unreachable, ensure that you have a back-up key stored elsewhere for safekeeping for emergencies 3. Be prepared that they will charge you ridiculous move-out fee's, despite whatever condition the unit is in. This was done to all of the tenants we spoke to who moved out when we were in the building. The only way to prevent this appeared to be threats of small claims (or outright lawsuits). If the PM company has changed, the property is new and in a great part of town. Although close to the city it is generally quite. We had several problems with ants and rats, so be prepared to hassle the PM for assistance. There were also regular problems with the homeless making a mess of the trash can (but it's downtown, that's part of the deal).
