Situated along the Hocking River in southeastern Ohio, Athens is a small college town nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Athens is also convenient to Strouds Run State Park, Wayne National Forest, Zaleski State Forest, and Hocking Hills State Park. Columbus is just an hour’s drive away from Athens too.
