Located along Alabama's Gulf Coast, Mobile combines Southern heritage with coastal living. This historic port city offers one-bedroom apartments averaging $969, while three-bedroom homes rent for $1,471, reflecting a 7.1% increase. Housing options range from downtown apartments to historic homes in established neighborhoods like Old Dauphin Way and Oakleigh Garden District. The University of South Alabama's presence creates steady rental demand in the surrounding area.
Mobile's legacy as the birthplace of America's first Mardi Gras celebration remains a point of pride. The city's three centuries of history shine through its antebellum architecture and historic districts, particularly in Downtown and Midtown. Outdoor spaces include the 720-acre Langan Park and Mobile Botanical Gardens, while Mobile Bay provides waterfront recreation opportunities. The restored Saenger Theatre and Mobile Museum of Art anchor the city's arts scene.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at 79 Fifty Nine
Not a fan. Roach infestation, there’s never anyone in the office. The apartments are not kept up. We moved in and it was completely filthy inside. The pictures they have for the pool on this site is completely staged as the pool is never cleaned nor kept up and always closed. Not sure why they even have a pool if it’s never taken care of. Do not recommend living here. It’s gross and nasty.

We hate to hear that we have not met your expectations and appreciate you taking the time to let us know how we can improve. We can assure you that any infestations brought to our attention take top priority in making our residents feel safe and at home. If you have anything more specific you would like to discuss, please give us a call. Thanks!
I moved here from another state. Been here 2 1/2 months and there is mold on my walls, cabinets, and furniture. I was told my house was not tidied up enough and that it's because of how I wash my dishes and that even my bathroom could be picked up better. Maintenance man told me he could tell my furniture was in storage. I told him everything was new and he looked at my furniture up and down. Very disappointed
Visited this property about a month ago the office staff was very professional and friendly I'll recommend them to all my family and friends
The staff is genuine and cares to make our property the best!!

I have NO working kithen light, 9 months. Microwave does not work, 9 months. The amenities listed as available are NOT available. The pool is always CLOSED (for 9 months). The gym is NOT available. It is only accessible M-F from 8:30 - 5:00, while you are at work. The business center is NOT available. It is only accessible M-F from 8:30 - 5:00, while you are at work. You have to miss work to pay rent. No rent drop box. No online portal. Maintenance requests are NOT acknowledged nor completed. Maintenance does NOT exist. Leasing person is HORRIBLE, she holds her hand out for rent check without greeting you or asking how things are going in the apartment. She rolled her eyes at me when I asked to place a work order. Maintenance NEVER came. Three different managers, and three or four leasing consultants in 9 months. The grounds are beautiful. It's the perfect place to live, ONLY if you're homeless and plan to pitch a tent and live in it to enjoy the grounds. Leasing office CLOSED for days at a time WITHOUT NOTICE to the residents. Leasing office CLOSED in middle of the day. Office staff simply NOT AVAILABLE. CLOSED EVERY WEEKEND. NEVER open after 5:30 PM. NEVER open before 8:30 AM. They ONLY open the leasing office while you are AT WORK. You must miss work to speak with staff. No one answers the phone, nor return calls.
Property Manager at 79 Fifty Nine, Responded To This Review
Hi, I would like to apologize for any problems or inconvenience you are having or have experienced. If your microwave is currently not working, please call the office and report the problem to us so I can make sure maintenance comes by today. For any work orders that are reported, maintenance makes it a priority to take care of it that day. We don't want anyone to have work orders that are not being completed, that's why we ask if you have any issues to report them to the office right away. All of the amenities provided are always available. The pool is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the exception of Mondays, it is closed for cleaning. The fitness center and computer lab are also open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. I'm sorry you work during those hours, we are closed on the weekends and therefore the office is not available for use at that time. Several months ago, we were able to get an online payment portal setup to pay rent online, now our residents has the convenience to pay their rent online if they are not to pay during office hours. The office staff is always available, there is always someone here in the office during business hours and always answers calls as they come in. Again, I do apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing, and want to let you know, if you ever need to come by the office to speak with us regarding any issues, you are more than welcome to do so. We love our residents and want to make your stay here at Cottage Hill Pointe enjoyable, at home.
