Allen Park is a mostly residential community in Detroit’s Downriver suburbs. The city borders Dearborn’s southwest side, and the Ford Dearborn facility is one of the largest employers of Allen Park residents. The Downtown commercial district around the intersection of Allen Road and Southfield Road features a number of popular hangouts, including locally owned cafes, specialty shops, and a small multiplex movie theater. One of the city’s claims to fame in recent years is as the home of the Detroit Lions headquarters and training facilities.
