The house is a 2 minute walk on private streets (no stairs) to the beach. Saint Malo Beach is a 76-year old gated community that was once a hidden paradise for movie stars and Los Angeles executives. The architecture is Normandy village style. The community was inspired by the island city of St. Malo located off the Brittany coast of France. St Malo features a private beach with clubhouse cabana, summer lifeguards, playground equipment, barbecue, covered patio, sand volleyball court, a paddle tennis court and 3 tennis courts. Prince Phillip and Princess Anne stayed at St. Malo while in San Diego during their visit to the summer Olympics in 1984. The neighborhood has a very European feel to it and is considered one of the best locations in Oceanside.
