About This Property
4200 finished square feet, and 8750 finished and unfinished square feet. An artist’s mansion built by artists George and Inga Solonevich. 8 bedrooms, 3 baths (and 3 more baths plumbing not connected yet), on 8.94 acres. Entire mountain to yourself and only a few neighbors (1000 acres). Was built as the builder’s dream to be an art school. Took the builders 7 years to build and me 5 years to renovate. To see a video of the house, go to You know what tube (won't let me type it) and search "John Birmingham huge cabin" for a new video uploaded in March of 2022 or "John Birmingham artist's mansion" for the house before more renovations in 2021 and 2022, some of the videos at the most beautiful time of year, in summer, where there is no house like this on earth I have ever been to. In summer it is like a real bird sanctuary, almost a rainforest, with birds from maybe all of North America seen here. All of the animals are kind here on this mountain. I once walked up the entire mountain in pitch black dark and felt more safe than anywhere else. I will consider leasing only the downstairs of the house with its own kitchen and bath and 5 kind of small bedrooms and three huge big rooms including the game room, family room and basement... for $1400 a month, and I will rent the guest house alone with its own bath for $700 a month plus utilities. You really have the walk or jog of the entire mountain here with only about 4 other neighbors for 1000 acres, so its really beautiful here, and the neighbors don't mind you walking around their property as it has a very friendly atmosphere. Its safe to leave your doors unlocked here, and no one would harm anyone. You can hear when anyone enters the neighborhood on the gravel road. Right behind this house is 800 acres with no one there besides this man's vacation home who is rarely there, with huge open meadows that get so much son atop the mountain that they are warm still in fall and giant ponds, trails that go up the mountain on this property and all around the mountain where you feel like you have almost total privacy compared to nearly anywhere else. It was once a place where they partied all through the 1960s, 70s and 80s, and the artists who built the neighborhood were maybe some of the leaders of the love child movement in America. They had escaped Nazi Germany where the nazis took all of their money, had ben from good families and attended art school in Europe, but the nazis took it all and put them on foot and horse and wagon across Germany in the winter. They barely made it out alive and settled here on the mountain where they built all these artistic one of a kind houses, built in some centuries old ways of home building passed on down the generations from hundreds of years ago, so its kind of like the European countryside here. No house like this out there. Took the builders 7 years to build and took me 5 years to renovate. Looking for only special people who like this neighborhood and fit in here. I feel as though God chooses people to live here and can't just be anyone.
