Home to Lee University and Cleveland State Community College, Downtown Cleveland offers a vibrant, attractive hometown. Established in 1836, Downtown Cleveland is a historic district with beautiful architecture filled with boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, and antique stores. The unique Back Alley Gallery, located behind the historic opera house Craigmiles Hall about a half block east of Ocoee Street, is a public art display that's a must-see. At the center of Downtown, Johnston Park provides a shady area walk, relax on a bench, or attend an event.

Some of Downtown Cleveland's events include the Cleveland Apple Festival, the Main Street Cruise-In (a classic car show), the Downtown Dine Around, and the Downtown Farmer's Market.
