Located about 20 miles southeast of Grand Rapids, Caledonia is a fast-growing town that wraps around Emmons Lake. Caledonia Lakeside Park borders the lake and provides picnic areas, playgrounds, two baseball diamonds, fishing areas, and access to the Henry Thornapple Trail. While it is the fastest-growing community in West Michigan, it remains close-knit and family-oriented. The Caledonia Community Garden provides residents with an abundance of vegetables, herbs, and flowers, while the Farmers Market provides a wide selection of locally-grown produce, baked goods, and crafts.
While mostly residential, Cherry Valley Avenue, which extends along the eastern edge of town, is lined with shops, restaurants, markets, and other businesses. Downtown Caledonia, a terrific shopping district lined with boutiques and cafes in historic buildings, is another great destination. Caledonia is convenient to Downtown Grand Rapids, Davenport University, and Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
