About This Property
Now showing for August First 2020 lease. This home is in the immediate downtown area. Inside - Lots of original hardwood floors - First floor - front parlor, rear parlor with alcove sitting area (both parlors have fireplaces with electric faux fire installed), living room with alcove sitting area, dining room, kitchen, laundry and half bath. There are three fireplaces on the first floor. All originally were coal burners. We have converted them to electric. It is a four minute stroll to the heart of Downtown Champaign and a five minute drive to Marketplace Mall and ten minutes to major grocery stores. It is a seven minute drive to the U of I campus. Major MTD bus routes stops are within a block. On the outside there is a large sitting porch (we provide three antique wicker rockers with the home for use on the porch). Also a concrete deck with a gazebo and a private drive for off street parking Tenants have typically been young professionals - previous tenants were a married couple - Marine recruiter and his wife finishing her PhD, high school. Current are a marrid couple with two small children. appliances include - kitchen range, refrigerator, dishwasher and side by side washer and dryer It is known as the Thomas Frank's Home. Originally built in 1870 with additions in the 1880s and 1890s. We purchased it and renovated it top to bottom (all new plumbing, wiring, HVAC, insulation and windows) in 2002, with several touch ups since. The house has steam radiator heat with a 90+ plus high efficiency boiler. There are two central air conditioning systems - one for each floor. Tenants have access to our private fitness center two blocks away.
