About six miles down the coast from Port Saint Lucie, the historic fishing village of Port Salerno offers many homes and condos for rent in planned communities, all of which have waterfront access within a few blocks. Port Salerno is well-known for its sport fishing tournaments, launched out of the many marinas lining Manatee Pocket, which runs along the west side of the small Port Salerno peninsula. Launch your own boat or paddleboard from Sandsprit Park to enjoy year-round water recreation, then relax by strolling along the Manatee Pocket Walk, a boardwalk that takes you around the shoreline of the Pocket.
St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park is directly across the Great Pocket from Port Salerno, but you'll need a boat to get there. This is an amazing destination for snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, beachcombing, and sunbathing. In addition to two miles of unspoiled beaches and mangrove forests, the park includes a 3,000-foot boardwalk.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
