Sheldon is adjacent to Mobile Regional Airport and roughly three miles southwest of the University of South Alabama. Wooded and hilly, this attractive neighborhood features several creeks and Optimist Lake. A variety of shops and restaurants are located in Sheldon, mainly along Schillinger Road and Airport Boulevard.
Sheldon is about 15 miles west of Downtown Mobile, with Interstate 10 providing an easy commute into the city. If you choose to rent an apartment in Sheldon, you'll be able to enjoy weekend trips to the beach — Dauphin Island is just 32 miles south. While you'll find plenty of green space in the neighborhood, Cottage Hill Park is located just outside the neighborhood, providing walking trails, ball fields, picnic areas, and tennis courts.
