Situated within minutes of the Mississippi-Alabama border, Meridian provides a small-town atmosphere along with a host of modern amenities. Residents enjoy a pervasive historic charm throughout the city, with nine historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including Meridian’s downtown area.

Downtown Meridian boasts a bevy of attractions in a walkable environment. An outdoor public art exhibit called Around Town Carousels Abound features carousel horse sculptures throughout Meridian, paying homage to the historic Dentzel Carousel in Highland Park.
